My latest drawing of beautiful Margot Robbie, but I think I screwed it up?

in art •  8 years ago  (edited)

I started This drawing 3 days ago, right before I got high fever. Today I feel much better so I thought I would finish what I started. I had a feeling right from the start that something wasn't right. It didn't look like her but I couldn't figure out what it was. It turned out to be the eyes that was too close together so I had to erase some of it and move the left eye about 5mm.

But the eye wasn't the only thing that went wrong. I couldn't get the contrast right, especially on the left side. I had to add and press harder with a darker pen to get it right. Not sure if it was enough?

Then when I started on her hair I accidentally tore up the paper. The technique I use to draw white or blond hair is with tape and some of the paper got stuck on the tape :(

But It can't alwas be perfect. I am happy with the result anyway, even if it was one of the hardest portraits I've made. Margot Robbie got something mystical in her eyes that is hard to duplicate.

I hope you like it :) And if you do, push that upvote button ;)

I've got a really nice drawing half finished with a big coffee spill across it.
It can be devestating some times!

Yes, when you spend a lot of time just to make it right and something screws up you get mad sometimes. But you just have to take a deep breath and continue :)

This is amazing! Although it looks clearly like Margot, it reminds me also of the young Brigitte Bardot. Your drawings are beautiful, thanks for sharing.
