WIP=Work In Progress

Background's First Layer of Color

With Watercolor one has to work from light to dark because the paint is translucent and will lift up when the wet paint is applied. The first layers are the light colors that will show where the sun hits the leaves. I will now apply paint for the shadows and defining the tree's leaf patterns.

I worked on the fence to see how I would apply the paint and colors to carry the patterns of what is behind the fence and the shadows of the lattice pattern. I am happy with how it turned out and will continue the pattern. I've never done a lattice fence, and I usually work on the areas I don't know exactly what to do and work out a system. That is the fun part for me, figuring out a system I can use to keep consistency throughout the painting, and it speeds up the painting process.

If I put off the hard parts of the painting many times I won't finish the painting. This is part of an artist getting to know their weak areas and dealing with them correctly so they won't get in the way. My Buddhist teacher's called this their little tricks on how to work through long meditation retreats. You develop little tricks to work with yourself, part of getting to know who you are and how you work. That is why painting is a lot like meditation.

22 x 30 inch cold press, 300lb cotton watercolor paper

I had to enhance the drawing with some filters on my iPad so you can see the lines. The lines in normal light hardly show up, and the paper is an off-white. The filter not only enhanced my pencil lines but they also caught the texture of my cold press watercolor paper.

    Hello @reddust
A wonderful painting thank you for sharing with us and clarifications of what you are doing and the stages to be cut by the panel to be completed
I missed my girlfriend with you for a while I did not see your publication

@klasanaj, this is a happy little painting! I usually don't post a lot after a long writing series, it drains the energy out of me and I need to take a break. I am not a machine...lolol

Work in progress, sure but I'm glad to see you back painting. We must never let go of our skills, if we don't practice we gonna forget the art. I'm so happy that you have started to paint again. Will see how this one goes.

Looking forward to seeing more of your painting. Wish you luck my dear.

@wa2qr, thank you for your support, it means the world to me. I love the social interaction and critiques I get here on Steemit. Sometimes my writing is in conflict with my painting. I have asked my husband to help me with research on my writing projects so now I have more time to paint. You can thank my husband! <3

Well sure I thank your husband. Don't know him though. What can I call you by the way ?
Followed you, this way I can keep track of your work so nothing is missed. Cheers and have a good time

Well yes it does really sounds helpful and by the way of it if we get to know our weak points than we will be able to focus on it and make particular improvements to those points.

The sketch is looking now than the colored one , while hoping to see the colored one to be more amazing once it is done :)

I found the weak areas are also some of my strongest once I figure out how to work around or improve my intentions/awarness, and technique. Painting is another way to get to know who we are.

@rehan12, You know color is my favorite part...hahaha

I sure would have chosen to try out my luck in painting but lolz I should better not to do that ;)

I will spend at least 4 hours on this painting today and the rest of the day I have to compile my Buddhist history research and notes into some kind of outline for my series...soooo boring compared to painting. I think I will get my husband to do this part ;-)

    Thank you @abontikazaman

keep learning and sharing with us

very beautiful paintings and beautiful friends, I really like, and I need the support and help from your friends, may my friends always succeed always @reddust

The painting looks very beautiful, I think, your painting has its own meaning behind the beauty. I am very salute for people who have the soul of art, because the soul of art is not owned by everyone, and has a very high price. I once tried to learn to paint, but the result was not good, so I did not study anymore, because I thought I did not have an artistic soul to paint. In essence, we must develop the art, because not everyone has an artistic soul to paint. And you have that artistic soul, that's really cool. Thanks for sharing @ reddust...

Hi @reddust the house of your dreams? hehehe. Regards

@reddust, That's hard working process you starting again. But I know it's your interesting thing. I'm totally inspiration through your painting. This time you selected watercolor paint. I guess temporary stop gel pen arts by you. I bet that will be tremendous and valuable painting after the finishing. After your meditation process, can imagine how to combine color these art. Nice one and keep going. I wish your all success work.

Amazing is just what I can say right now
This is looking sweet already . Kudos @reddust

I am a fan of watercolors painting and this one it's looking really good. can't wait to see it finished

Looking forward to seeing the next step...

Absolutely I loved to stay where you create those environment @reddust. Actually nicely get. Did you follow some original image for this? I guess this one had your mind. Just excellent.

Really a very good and beautiful work, I congratulate you! Each artist has its strong and weak areas, I love how you distinguish exactly where each color goes, you can conclude that these paintings take a lot of time and dedication. and I think that yours is giving very good results, I wish you much success, I hope to see this soon finished

Green images always leave a fascinating impression on me. You worked great details. Congratulations again @reddust

It is a great strategy to attack the difficult parts of a project early. I am the same. When I leave the hard things until the end I find it challenging to complete what I am working on.

On the other hand, sometimes I need a "quick win" to start my day or a project to gather some momentum, especially when I get stuck on something.

I really like the lattice work on the fence. When I think of watercolors, I imagine paint that bleeds all over the place. You do a great job of control your work and not allowing it to control you.

I've always enjoyed watercolor I did some water coloring as a child and that style of painting that's quite unique in its imagery thanks for sharing. @reddust

amigo que pinturas tan lindas, de verdad una obra de arte , le felicito su trabajo y gracias por la ayuda que pueda brindar a mis trabajos saludos

your images are more varied, no longer just focus on the image of living objects, I prefer images like this scene. you can add some trees outside the fence .. :))

your painting is getting more and more visible, I would love to see it, maybe in a few days I'm a little bit busy, and our favorite laptop is broken, maybe a little hamper my work, but I will try to stay active here, ha ha ha

here is comes with the first layer color of painting, your confession about your lacks will help to improve the quality you belongs by your buddhists meditation tricks, hope you will represent another amazing of art work.

Wow, it looks like you might finish the work before the end on next week. I'm surprised why you said you might take up to the end of June. Because it's looking like you're already done with the work. I must confess I am really fascinated by how real the painting turned out to look. Kundus @reddust.

This will definetely be an awesome one as usual.....
I am already feeling it.. @reddust, I think you will do wonders with animations. I hope one of this days, most of Hollywood agents will hop into steemit and find good artist like you 😀✌
    Nice work

Very nice , your paintings are always an inspiration to me

wow. that's just so beautiful. i really love to paint with the use of water color.

Any activity in life leads to a meditation on its execution. Observe, beyond seeing, to translate what has been observed, to translate it into paper, and to make the necessary corrections so that the result is the desired and the most exact possible result of what has been observed, thus, all of this on the timeline.

A good work cannot be performed in relative hours, great artists have taken months to obtain the final product; it is something like a good wine, the older the better...

Your comparison between painting and meditation is very beautiful. I think it is applicable for all the trades that we perform. You have to know our weaknesses and the way we function to be able to take advantage of ourselves.

I couldn't find how about these art work. But seems lot of green coloring back-grounded with trees. Nice deserving every objects here. Shades, lights, darkness everything you managed. Thanks to share @reddust.
