🎨 Sexy Legs, High Heels, Nautilus and a surrealistic approach to a flat tire...

in art β€’Β  7 years agoΒ  (edited)

The title "Reifenpanne" (Flat Tire) might be as surreal, as the vehicle itself. This one was done for an exhibition in Denmark a while back and one could argue, that there is no tire, nor are the shoes flat... but hey, its like in a dream, where not everything comes in familiar shapes or the way we know itπŸ‘»

This piece was done in graphite pencil, watercolor and acrylics on reverse side of glass. I usually start with the drawing as one can see in this detail:

Here the whole drawing:

In addition to the graphite pencil, I add some highlighting in white:

Of course, the finished painting gets a handmade frame. This one has moving doors. The doors are something I came up with, when my paintings started to go to exhibitions in far away places. With the glass, one always gets a bit nervous with transport and so I created these doors not only as a design element, but actually with a function. With the doors closed, the glass painting is much more protected and rather safe during transit from one location to another πŸ™‚

Nautilus has always been fascinating to me in mathematical terms but this artwork takes it another level! ⭐️

Yes, quite a fascinating creature 🐚

You got me with those perfectly proportioned legs and heels. Sublime. I love the integration of the surreal elements, its something I recognize as uniquely your style - and I really enjoy it.

Cordial thanks for your kind comment! Your perfectly crafted trails of words are pretty addictive too and I wish I could reply on an adequate level... glad you like my "style" πŸ™‚

Really like how the tire is both organic and mechanic ! [ its got teeth!]:o
Although the heels always give a sense of "power" as though the feminine presence is ready to take on anything life (or dreams) throw at her.
Superb , as always :]

You got that right, as always... SHE is really the one with the power. Thank you for your meaningful words!

I know... Me too πŸ˜‡ I love your comments!

Great both as drawing and painting!

Thanks a lot! It was in a show in Saeby, in the north of Denmark

Well, whatdoyouknow - that's one small town. Never been there but I have been to the area many time.

Haha.. yes, compared to Copenhagen its tiny, but they have this really nice castle, where they have exhibitions. For me it was nice to go up there, long time after I'd only seen the cost through a periscope..

It's a beautiful landscape up there, I guess I will have to visit Sæby next time I am there.

This is very interesting. Really makes you look inside yourself. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for stopping by, glad you like it!

amazing job @reinhard-schmid :)

A man brain, a "fossil" nautilus and a feminine half. What an excellent composition! Meaningful piece of art as always!

Haha... not sure if the guy is necessarily the brain. More a simple character driving a vehicle that Stanislav Lem could have invented.. ok, there my be some.. er... subconscious stuff as well πŸ˜‡πŸ˜Ž

An intriguing, delightful, slightly eerie story going on here. Fabulous combination.

Yes, definitely one of my weirder ones :-)
