Hello steemians, thanks so much for visiting my past arts, today i will like to share my recent ballpoint pen portrait, with few major progress stages of the pen art, i started the drawing with a sketch using a graphite pencil 2B precisely, and applied slight layer of strokes to form a mesh- like surface of the sketch , i started the pen sketch in the mid night and came up with drawing below

Then i followed the same step and applied hatching through out the sketch to create a sketch that shows how the portrait will look like, that resulted in the photo below

With the first layer i was able to come up with a nice sketch with light shades to show how the portrait will look like , and i applied dark shade to the suit and the tie but yet to apply general details to the pen art.

Since the body frame is well detailed, the major part of a portrait is often the facial resemblance, as a pen artist i am always convinced that the best way to do a well detailed pen art sketch is to check and place the pre-detailed art with the right picture used as reference, hence its helps to know the necessary things absent in the pre- detailed art and the picture and with that it will help the artist to take note of those features, below is my comparison

The next is the final consideration of the pre- detailed pen art , to make it a detailed pen art , the effect of shadows,light , shades and dark shades must be put into the details, the eye, the nostrils, the nose, the ears , all must be given a critical attention and each ink drop to give a perfection effect.
It is always good to note that no rushing when detailing a pen art portrait , an artist should know that the best ballpoint pen sketches are born out of great patience and focus, here below is a simple pen art portrait
