"Carnivorous Flowers (Only 25 AOGDT Per Pot---But Watch Your Fingers!)" by Richard F. Yates

in art •  5 years ago

Spotted this assortment of carnivorous flowers at the super-market a few days ago. I grew up in the Northwest, right across the river from a nuclear power plant. (It was demolished a few years back---although, when it was still in operation, we used to go to picnics in the park by the reactor tower and even swam in the man-made lake surrounding the plant... Might be why I have trouble staying in a single time continuum, and both of my brothers have webbed feet...)

Anyway, much of the local fauna in our neck of the woods is---how to put this---ODD, perhaps...to say the least. Still, though they bite a bit, these dragon blooms sure are purdy!

It was also nice to see the local supermarket accepting my "Angry Old Guy Digital Tender" as a method of payment! Way to be supportive of starving artists, Henpeck Grocery!!!

So buy local (but wear gloves when planting these little devils, or you're likely to lose a digit!!!)

Later skaters!
