Mysteries of the desert.

Salutations and cheerful greetings to all of my earth pals! Today I was inspired by the winding twisting red rocky desert lands of the planet, and all the sun drenched critters who inhabit them.

First off, were the lands always so sun drenched that they looked this way? I know that water is quite abundant here, so I must wonder why you have not rerouted enough water to transform it back into lush garden land? That is of course assuming that it once was green and full of tasty fruits and veggies! Was it? Could there be a history of life sustaining vegetation, extinct creatures, and perhaps even weirder stuff under the surface?

You might find these questions naive, or even ridiculous. But are you aware that the vast majority of the planet has yet to be explored? Sure, we can look at everything with satellite or drone technology, but you can't really dig with either of those! Which begs the question, what strange secrets do the deserts still keep?
