First plein air painting of 2020 back home in New Zealand. I painted this rural scene in Oromahoe. It's been very dry here so the fields are looking a bit brown at the moment, however it looks great in a painting. I really enjoy painting these simple landscapes.
It's summer here in New Zealand and the landscape looks much drier than a couple of months ago. I was drawn to the stand of trees, the golden fields and the cows.
I love painting rural scenes of rolling hills and trees. I painted this art work in oils on a linen panel.
I was going to sell this painting but my girlfriend liked it so much that she insists that we frame it and hang it on our living room wall.
'Summer Evening, Oromahoe', 8" x 10", oil on linen panel.
Everything must have an orange tint after the Australian bush fires.

I was in Australia when the ash cloud passed over New Zealand, but the air is now clear again.

The recent rains might bring things under control. Fingers crossed!
