Why Caption Contest ?

We started this journey of Caption contest nearly six months back. Yes, we are running 23rd edition. No matter what the circumstances have been, Caption contest has persevered through up and downs, it never stopped. It had sponsors for some part to time and none for the rest. Nonetheless, Caption contest has survived.

So was this contest needed ? Should we continue doing it ? Why Caption contest ?

This is because, it has social, moral, psychological benefits on who are participating, and it has been finding its ways to be alive ever since its beginning 6 months ago. You all are dissecting the arts in a very diversified way as part of this contest and it has been quite engaging.

Art has an integral part of human life for ever, and there is a definite need to change our ways of seeing art, the ways we consume it. Good art has a lot of wisdom and knowledge on diversified matters. People find encouragement, comfort, and enjoyment in good art. Caption contest nourishes us, making us interpreting the art.

The same art is interpreted differently by different people. And in Caption contest, by making analogies, of different things from art that is inspired by our current society and our lives, we sometimes discover that these analogies drive our lives. It often makes us to find ourselves, in finding captions.

As many people participate in the contest, we come to know different ways of life, different ways of seeing, consuming art. This is of paramount importance in the world we live now, where we are yet to give more attention to art. Caption contest is the place defined by diversified thinking.
