Majorities who suffer from minority syndrome
As a Moroccan woman, in Morocco. I Sometimes wonder if there is some kind of solidarity between women. By that, i mean any kind of solidarity at all, in order to help each other be better. There are laws, of course there are. The laws applied in order to maintain a certain equilibrium in the society between men and women.
But there is the hidden law, the traditions...etc. Actually, while looking at all the logical reasons behind every tradition, i found some convincing.. Yet i found out that many of those ideas and traditions are born from pure fear. The fear of facing anything. I get it, some might say it's Islam but i am not here to discuss religions, i never think of anything based on religions because i assume that we are all humans and we at least all have the same human values. If anything, religions are food for the soul, so can be Art, or many other things. At least we agree that we all have a soul and we need to nourish it, surrounding ourselves with positive energies. Which is very relative.
To get to the point, we humans, we speak. And the fact that women are fighting for their rights all over the world. And sadly in countries like mine we can still find women who are fighting against their rights...

"IF YOU WANT SOMETHING SAID, ASK A MAN; IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE, ASK A WOMAN."
I am definitely not a feminist, i am a humanist. I believe in human power, and i feel bad when i see how women perceive themselves, thinking they are weak, that they depend on men to be safe, to be satisfied. Let's not get into the sexual aspect of what i just said, this was not intended. What i aim to say is, many women in struggling countries all around the world are underestimating their capacities, and reflecting this on other women is just not fair. The real problem is women underestimating women, and not the man who do. So the fight is between women to raise more independent women and men who respect and treat women as equal.
The solution :
In 2018, a friend a I have thought about creating a collective, an urban collective that would speak to the mass, to the youth and empower them, through positive stories, positive energy and by communicating with them. We named the collective CAZANATION, we created a website under the name Cazanation.com and for a start we thought of launching an independent free magazine.
I took care of all the content, from design to stories to edition, my friend helped with the stories too, she was the one to build the website and keep it running.
The youth were so reactive and so impressed that an independant urban magazine can exist for free online in their own language and simple english. They didn't have to be hype to have access The collective's goal is to give equal chances for male and female artists around the world but especially in Africa, visibility and promotion. For free. We gave it our time, a lot of time and we met up with different types of peoples in order to find partners who share the same goals.
Not surprising, but when it got serious, no one would gather around for a real action. We still get a lot of support messages from artists and normal people, young and old. That keeps us going, and honestly, the idea of doing anything and everything i can in order to give a voice to those who can't speak, doesn't bother me at all. But the fact that many of our readers and followers thought we were men. My friend is a female artist, Stranger souma. And i have never thought of giving this idea to anyone... I am a woman who is proud to be born a woman. Anyway, this is the only thing that bothers me but at the same time, i don't over think it. These young boys and girls, those young adults systematically thought that we were guys because they thought what we did what cool.
The reactions we get are more than a proof that we are on the right path. No matter who they think we really are, we never revealed ourselves to them, we prefer saying that we are a nation, a virtual but real nation.
Those who can't speak are not mute. Those who can't speak are the youth, they are the ones we should give a voice to, they are the ones who should be cared about, who should be educated and raised in positive environment. Yet for the first time in North Africa, we made up space for pets, because we think that they are also the ones who are oppressed in emerging countries.
After all, once you elevate your soul into caring about more than just oneself. You can achieve humanity in all senses. And might be, hopefully, a way to be better people, to make our spaces more fair to live in. Sharing love and positivity CAN make the world a better place.
Sometimes i have to go through many ideas in order to get to my final point. But this is the way i think, i tried to make it as brief as possible for you guys. I wish you can help me get my message to more people in order to simply give them hope and probably inspiration to be happy and to be better.
