Confessions of a Seadbeadaholic

Hi There.....Do you have any addictions?

Haha, I know what a weird thing to ask. But I have a real addiction I wanted to share with you ย ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yes, I confess I am a Seed Bead Aholic. I really can't keep away from them. They call me to say please, oh please work with me. And that's when I cave in. I just can't resist those little buggers.

You know, it hasn't always been that way. It all started in 2007 if I remember correctly. I was having a lot of problems with my knee and needed to have surgery for it. I had been going to the music academy to learn how to play the piano for 4 years and was taking singing lessons at the same time. I also was a singer in a band, called The Lemon Sweets.ย

You could say my weeks were pretty packed. And then there was my job of course, and not to forget my husband and 2 children. Yes right almost forgot a cat and a dog as well.

So because of the knee surgery, I couldn't start my next school year for my music lessons. And on top of that, the singing group fell apart, because some of the members wanted to do different things. For a long time, I was kinda lost. Not knowing what to do with my spare time. I joined a choir so that I could keep on singing.ย

That's when I started having more and more problems with my back as well. At the same time, I needed surgery on my sinuses to treat my chronic sinusitis problem. The next month I needed surgery again. This time they had to remove my gall bladder due to stones. And the next month, I assure you I'm telling the (painful) truth, I needed to have arthroscopic hip surgery. If I wasn't the lucky one. Following that, please don't ask me how I did it, I got a frozen shoulder. So I had been absent from work for almost a year.

Since I was still having a lot of problems with my back I started work part-time. That's when I discovered the art of beading. And before I even knew it I was hooked or as I said earlier addicted ย ๐Ÿ˜Š

Here are some of the results of my addiction to show you that things like that do have consequences.

You see that is what you get when you start with those things. But well.....who am I to tell you what to do ย ย ๐Ÿ˜‰ย

But don't say I didn't warn you cause I now have a shop filled with almost 200 of these pieces ย ย ๐Ÿ˜ฆย

ย Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

Renata (Seadbeady)

These are simply wonderful creations!! Not the cheap plastic necklaces with aluminum looking trinkets... well done!

As I look over your post, I see so many similarities... I was in a band in my younger years... played drums, going for that big "record deal"... ended up getting poisoned with a chemical degreaser at a prior job, diagnosed with MS in 2016... life aye? I understand your pain; my other half worked at the same location as I did... she had her gall bladder removed, carpal tunnel, and frozen shoulder... perhaps we were meant to meet yes? I'm looking at all your creations... I am particularly fond of the 4th one down.

The pictures add so much to your posts, and the fact that you offer to share other creations on your blog posts is quite positive karma. I wish you continued success and healing with all your health issues... look forward to seeing more of your creations!!

Wow you're so gifted with your hands, now i know why you can't keep them away, the story about you knee and back injury melt my heart โ™ฅ i am glad you're okay now, sometimes odd things do come our way and we feel like we have lost it all but at the end of the day with God on our side and having faith in him we would surely scale through, my first time of visiting your page and this is so touching to me, thanks for sharing.

Wow you just got hit with a lot of things in a short period of time. One of my aunts did seed beadery. She would make us little coin pouches and such when we were kids and her hands still worked. I'm always amazed at the intricacy in them

I loved it. My mom might have one in storage somewhere (I hope).

You're very welcome ๐Ÿ˜Š I love reading posts when you can tell how much someone enjoys something or has passion. You definitely have that.

Hi there. I saw your username and kind of wondered what the name meant and now I get it! Lol. Even as a male, these all look amazing! Finding a hobby can make a world of difference. I relate to your physical woes as I'm having neck problems and numbness in my toes. It's very hard to work and be happy. Joining steemit a few weeks ago has helped my mood a lot. Anyway, best of luck and I hope to see more of your creations

In our lives... so often the trials and tribulations are just guiding us toward our joys... just not always so obvious.

ย  ยท ย 6 years agoย

It wasn't that obvious in the beginning but those beads do give me a lot of joy :)
