My linocut artwork. 1st from Mr Dog Series of linocuts.

Hi there! :)

Today I want to share with you the first linocut from my Mr Dog collection of linocuts. This is the first one of (so far) four, so more will come ;)

This particular Mr Dog is holding a gun. He reminds me of the eighties for some reason, perhaps it's his jacket. The whole series of Mr Dog comes from a time when I was a little bit upset with? interested in? violence, and violence's many faces. I'm not sure why I chose dogs to represent the agents of violence. I know I wanted every Mr Dog to have a carefree expression, in contrast to what they do or represent.

It's a jpg version of my linocut that I have printed on a fabric, scanned and then vectorised.

I will make a film tutorial for you guys showing how I make my linocuts. However, I need to prepare well for it to be enjoyable, as my artistic work tends to be quite messy and chaotic. I will need to think of a way to make tutorial pleasant to the eye. For now I can tell you that it goes like this: first I draw my vision on the linoleum. Then I cut it out with a sharp chisel. When the linocut is ready I put a black paint on it and press it onto the paper or fabric. The paint stays on the medium creating a beautiful print ;)

I especially love to create bags, bagpacks and cosmetic backs that are decorated with my linocuts, because I like my art to by usable in everyday life. Here's a little example for those who might be interested how it looks:
