PXLPET is a community game which is powered trough your comments and engagement. It's about taking care of your own virtual pet. With some of these future blog post you'll have the chance to win a pet which will then find a home on a pixel art canvas. How to Play
You can become the owner of these cuties by commenting under this PXLPET blog posts. If your comment gets randomly chosen you'll win the pet and your username will be shown above its head. Congratulation you are a proud PXLPET owner! Your pet will from now on live in a lovely video which will be updated regularly. In case you win again you'll get one more pet.
Everybody who wants to participate has to resteem the post and leave a comment. You have one week to participate. After that week the winner will be announced.

Hmmm... one Idea would be a sort of in-post mini-game pet owners could play, maybe with it's own dedicated posts in-between selection posts ?
That or you could all have your own private PXLland, using that tool @shoumi used to create the platformer. Have you all voting on new additions to the environments, little competitions... :)
I remember murking through the code of the platformer. there was a mention in a code-comment telling me to say something like "onwards to code island" to be transported to the secret hacker/programmer island XD

I think those are great ideas! I was trying to think how this could link to steemmakers that that seems to be too much of a stretch :p
I was also thinking about how each owner could be provided with options each week for their pxlpet to interact with other pxlpets to change the environment as well. Or for people without pxlpets to vote on things that can happen each week with the canvas...
Maybe even have a hidden pixel on the canvas each week where a new pixlpet is hidden, and people can guess a spot on the canvas where the person with the exact or closet guess can win a pixlpet/item?

Hmmm... I can't think of a direct way, except if @shoumi decides to go Maker on us all and tries to whittle or sculpt one of the PXLpet's hehe...
But I can think of ways to use PXLpet content in maker ways. when I get my pet I'll try my hand at making a 3D printable model of it for my desk XP
Your ideas are very interesting too, though I prefer initiatives like the platformer for winning new pets.
Random chance just doesn't give the same feel of achievement if you succeed XD
Or maybe have a PXLpet peek out from behind a bush in the background, and the first person who notices wins the "hidden" competition hehe.

Guys, these are awesome ideas! I will definitely have a thought on this. One Idea I had is to implement I simple storyline. For example there is a pet which is trapped in a cage. Participats could now pixel an item which can unlock the pet. The user who pixeled the most creative item with the most upvotes gets the pet plus the item. Something like that. I also really wanted to make tokens out of the pxlpet trading cards. So the pets get are real value. But more informations on this part in the future. I am not sure if it works out yet.
