Learning Web Animation: SVG Basics Part 1 -- An Overview of SVG

in art •  8 years ago  (edited)

Ok, since we'll be animating SVG images in this course, it helps to gain a solid foundation on exactly what SVG is. If you've heard the acronym before but were never quite sure what the fuss is all about, then this video (and section) is definitely for you.

This is the first of three videos in the SVG Basics module.

In this video we will:

  • Learn the benefits of using SVG on the web
  • Compare Raster vs. SVG images (Scalability)
  • Get familiar with the SVG format and syntax (you already know it ...sort of!)
  • Dynamically manipulate SVG content

Dig in!

This video is part of a longer course on SVG and web animation with Greensock which can be found here: http://academy.siggyworks.com/p/web-animation-with-svg-and-greensock
