I used to do polymer clay sculpting a couple of years ago.
This piece was made in 2012.
'The Open Door' 3D sculpted commissioned wedding gift. Cernit polymer clay on a 4x7 inch canvass. Made to order.
I mixed all the colors and matched them to the reference image, keeping in mind that some clays' color changed slightly when baked. This is especially true of mixed colors.
The mural was then built up layer by layer and baked.
My journey with polymer clay started with silver Filani clay. A locally made polymer clay that was quite soft.
This piece was my first Clay-Scape pendant and measured 5 cm x 3.5 cm.
My gran bought that one. This is the epitomy of 'blurry photographic evidence'.
My next attempt was better. The detailing was done using a sewing needle.
At a later stage when I had built up more confidence and done a couple of colored clay pictures I did this colored version of the second pendant.
'Blue Door', colored clay pendant. I did this as a trial for a new technique that I would be using on a larger project. Quite happy with how it came out.
I still have this pendant in a box with all the other helf finished pieces. I just can't decide if it should be a brooch or a pendant. Could never really find the right findings to make it hang right.
Well, that's me for today.
Hope you have a good weekend!

Hey Lizelle,
You need to redo your header on your page. I suggest you change "Artist-Wife" to just 'Artist". The proof is in the pudding and you just served up a whole batch with this post. I don't believe there is anything wrong with two artist under one roof, stake your claim to the title "Artist", it appears to be well deserved.
Until next time,
@sultnpapper
