Man - Animal; original two sided sculpture by @sofi-m

Good Day Steemians!

Today I want to show you my

Man - Animal.

This clay sculpture has two sides, one where the human form prevails and another where the animal / horse form prevails. I made this sculpture to describe our attitudes and our conflicts within our own biology and being.

Sometimes we want to behave humane, but instead fear makes us act instinctively. Animal instincts can be a very powerful tool for our survival but also a very destructive force in a modern society, where we need to be considerate and helpful to each other.

It was an interesting and fun sculpture to make, but quite cumbersome too. I used natural white clay and baked it in 1200 degrees. It is about 35cm high and almost the same diameter.

I hope you like it!

When the human side is up, it looks like kneeling figures. I would hardly have suspected that there was a second side to it. This is a very clever piece!

I guess that is how it is with society. You would hardly suspect what normal civilized people are capable of becoming until an economic stress comes up or they form into a mob.

Very valid point @onceuponatime and thank you for taking time once again to discuss your thoughts! It is sometimes the case too that people act like animals when they also have everything but haven't been trained to be kind. (By the way your post was very clever not my sculpture)

An impressive piece. Very clever.

Thank you @coldmonkey!

Amazing work

Thank you!!

Your welcome @sofi-m I'll follow you

Cool! Have a great day :D

It took a couple of seconds then I got how this works, a clever design @sofi-m!

Thank you, I enjoyed making this 😊
