Artists' first world problems - which paintings to take to an exhibition, and which to keep on the walls at home?

in art •  7 years ago

I have a tiny exhibition in July and I don't know which pieces to take there. I love that my walls are filled up right now, and it's great marketing whenever I have clients coming by the house. But of course I still want to make a great impression in town. It's a small exhibition in the only local art and framing store. They also do glass panes and stuff like that, so their customers do have money.

There's just a couple of "real" galleries in town and they're hard or expensive to get in to, so I'm taking this possibility with honor. It's been a couple of years since my last exhibition so I do have a lot of paintings, but no real "series", so it's real hard to choose.

I'm just gonna post some paintings here and see if you like them. Of course I have many more, but since I haven't shared a lot of art I figured I'd just share a few now.

Upvote and comment if you like it :)

Sort Order:

You could pick them by theme or sort a few by same color and so on. Then pick a few from them to exhibit.

Color is easy, because I do tend to work in the same color space a lot :) But I want to of course show off diversity too since I believe it could be a source for new customers, more than just a show off of a specific theme. But thanks - I will try to sort it out in the coming week :)

Or you can make a selection yourself and post this here so Steemians can help you filter a little bt more.

Maybe I will do that when I've made my selection :) It will only be 5 or 6 pieces depending on size. I have some massive ones but they probably won't fit in the window/store.
