It turns out, tattoos began to to do even before our era. Tattoos their roots go deeper and deeper primitive society. The first tattoo was really a magical function - to serve as amulets and protection in war and hunting. And the first tattoo was applied with the help of natural dyes - colored clay, plant juice or animal excretion(oysters for example).

In 1900, the British Museum has at its disposal items and six mummies, named after the place of their finds — ancient Egyptian city of Gebelein. The mummies belong to the late predynastic period of Egypt. All the bodies buried in the fetal position, was mummified common way - with the help of sand. The bodies were immersed in hot sand, which dried they. Scientists have found, that two mummies of this number belong to men, one — to a woman. One of the men had a wound on his back.

With the help of computed tomography and infrared spectroscopy, scientists investigated the dark spots on the skin of mummies, and they turned out to be tattoos. They were not superficial coat of paint, in composition similar to soot, went deep under the skin. On the shoulder of a man was depicted animals — presumably this is the wild bull and Barbary sheep, and the woman's hands were decorated with lines and S-shaped characters. Similar figures can be found on ceramic vessels predynastic period, which were used during religious ceremonies.

I hope it was interesting for you! Thank you for reading!

@springmelody I like this post on on the origin and culture of Tattoo.I never know that it dates back to the Egyptian era.I now know that cutting tattoo one one's body is not a new.it is as old as Egypt. However, I don't see any good use of bearing tattoo marks on your body.Since its origin it fetish, then it connotes something not good.Anyways, this is an informative post.I just upvoted you

I believe that everyone decides for himself what is beautiful and right for him. If a person wants to make a tattoo - it's his choice. But all you need to know the measure)
