Inktober 2019 Day 24 DizzysteemCreated with Sketch.

in art •  5 years ago

For today I remembered that there was a series of games on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum featuring a character called Dizzy. I am not sure I ever played it as I had a BBC Micro instead, but I had a friend with a Spectrum. I have to say the programmers did a lot with the limited graphics. You could only have two colours in each character square and of course the resolution was pretty low.

I found this screenshot that I copied.

Thanks for the support.

@steevc,

I remember playing games on my **Commodore Vic 20 **, then of course moving to Atari, Nintendo... now have a PS4, but I do so love playing games... I also think this #inktober is an awesome way to interact. As for the haters? Well... let's just give them a big 'ol hug!!

I had a borrowed Vic before I got my BBC Micro. The variety of computers made things interesting back then as they were all incompatible. I had loads of fun playing games and writing my own programs. That led to a career with computers.

My friend at school had a BBC Micro, I had an Acorn Electron with 32kb of RAM ! The joys of typing in pages of code to make a dancing skeleton thing. I vaguely remember that Dizzy game, super drawing those old games were the best. Frogger forever! @tipu curate

The games were great considering the limitations of the hardware. I was loading stuff on my Beeb from cassette. Elite was amazing.

Hopefully that isn't the case. I am planning to do some posts in the future about some retro gaming if I can ever find the time! Nice drawing!
