Eye Girl - Speed Painting in Procreate

in art •  7 years ago

Well, the rain that's lasted all week turned into snow yesterday afternoon. And this morning it's sort of a mix of the two. I've made a few trips down here to Trenton, Ontario over the last few years and the weather has always been amazing. Last November I was down and it was still 20 degrees most of the time. This time, it's like winter followed us down from Quebec. I'm looking forward to getting home in 2 more days as I'm going a little shack crazy cooped up in my room now.

On the plus side, I have lots of time to do some drawing.

Here's one I finished up last night - with a trippy little song I made to go with it. I'm finding it quite fun to create these mashups of random photo's and turning them into paintings. For this one I took this picture of this girl screaming and stuck an eyeball in there.

I know there is some meaning to it for me, but I'm not going to get into it. You can take your own meaning from it.

Not much else to do today, so I'll probably start on another one.

Thats a classic work of art @stephen.king989. Please which software did you use for the artwork. Am a fan of digital painting. I love to use Adobe Photoshop.

It's done with procreate on an iPad. If your looking for something a little more affordable than Photoshop, I'd suggest Affinity Photo.

That's awesome! Could be a great album cover haha.

Well done. The video of your process was great! I was going to ask the song but then I realized you said you made it; nice work! Where are the drums from? I especially liked at the end your little background color flares with the percussion :)

Really kick ass piece of work! From the painting to the song to the video. Woke up with 4 inches on the ground here, and we're supposed to get more tonight for a 50 degree day tomorrow haha

The song is made with Garage band. It's a super quick way to get something unique, even using some of the loops that are provided. There is a 'live loops' feature where you can just hit record and turn the different loops on and off as you want. Then when you're done, it's possible to go back and edit all the parts how you want in case there are parts that didn't sound good. It's really quite genius and handy for things like video backing songs. The whole song was made in less than an hour which includes browsing through all the different loops and picking the ones that will sound good together, a couple of recording runs, and some quick editing at the end.

Wow. I didn't realize that was a catalogue drum loop- I thought you pulled it off an old album haha! I used to play around with garage band but unfortunately my current laptop can't handle it. Either way, good work!

Don't have words!
amazing! stunning!

Thank you.

A Good Story keeps the spirit in working despite the unfavorable weather @stephen.king989
