Hello Steemers. Welcome to another walkthrough on a photorealistic drawing I just finished. Last year has been awesome as far as my art is concerned
My model is a friend who has shown how much she values our friendship and has also shown herself to value me as much as I value her. She is bright, intelligent and simply awesome.
STEP 1
As usual, I draw the grids and make a quick sketch of the image. This is the foundation of all my artworks. I use grids to make sure I'm precise at the drawing. This is not to say I cant draw photorealism without using grids.
STEP 2
If you have been following my blog and walkthrough.. You'll know that this is the next step (drawing from the top). I usually draw from the too to ensure I don't get graphite smudged all over my work and paper. So here.. I'm starting with the cap.
I'm actually using new shading techniques here.... Using light pencils first to make the base for the shades before layering with darker pencils.
STEP 3
Completing the head and hand area. Now this place was hard. I won't lie. Drawing fingers have always been my bane. I always feared it but I took my time with drawing the fingers and I really really like what I was able to come up with.
STEP 4
Shading the upper chest and rounding up.
Conclusion
I got new and better art supplies ( steadtler pencils, general charcoal pencils and stomps). All these are what I used to produce this drawing. It took me a total of 4 hours every day for 4 days (today being the last day)
Since we are entering the new year, I'll like to thank the whole steemit community for the supports I've gotten since I joined steemit. Thank you.
Thanks to @marvel1206 for the cartoon and the fake beards. Lol.
Thanks for reading and stopping by. Do let me know what you think of this drawing and also If my friend is as beautiful as I think she is.
What good images! You are a real artist @stephennevets I invite you to check my last post, you were nominated to the challenge of the "5 things that did not know about me". Greetings.
