This is a watercolour painting I did last year of a peony. This was my first 'deep' watercolour which involved using tube paint and much blending as opposed to the wash painting often used with block paints. I painted on A3 gloss sketch paper using a basic palette of red, yellow, blue, green, white and black. It took about 3 days as I had to wait for layers to dry around the petals before I could add things such as highlights.
