Daily Drawing (Jeff Goldblum, Henry Rollins, Prince, twentyonepilots)

Good morning folks. While I’m awake and on a roll, here comes a second post in 24 hours. This time is another lot of the trashportraits I’ve been doing as warm up drawings. A fair amount of this bunch were commissioned requests. I’ve been offering them at $40. For that price, you get an print of the portrait to which I add additional highlights and textures, making the print you recieve essentially a one of a kind. I retain all rights to the non-remarked image. But it seemed like a solid way to let fans of my work get an original piece, and I get to set aside some time everyday to continue sorting out this iPad business. Everyone seems pretty content it so far. So without further babble...

Not sure why you called them trashportraits, they are pretty nice looking! Plus people won't pay you $40 for making trash XD.

The term trashportraits came out of the fact that the tools and techniques were a hodgepodge of random choices, textures and patterns. I appreciate the kind words!

Ooooh!!! I thought you're one of those artists with low self esteem. Well thanks for letting me know about this term :).

Jeff and Prince have a very gestural pop-art/grunge combo look to them that I'm finding very tasteful. Very interesting texture brush choices and execution, too. And I love the very sketchy outlining; just looking at it makes me feel like I'm being rushed somehow.

Thank you kindly! It’s really cool to hear a response with specific comments on the technique; most of the choices I make on these are random or curiosity based, but looking at them again after reading your comment is changes the way I see them a bit. Much appreciated!

You're welcome. ^_^; I'm used to doing things way too precisely so scrutinizing visually successful quick and dirty digital work like this is very helpful.

Your portraits are so cool! I love the design of each piece and the colours you chose to work with are amazing and great <3 Really awesome pieces, Adam <3
