Hey Steemit!
We're back again with another Art Attack! If you're new to the series, this is where I share my drawings and the process behind them. A behind-the-scenes look at my artwork, if you will. This is not to say that I'm very good at art, or that I'm a professional in any way. In fact this is the opposite, and serves as a reminder to how I first started, and lets me track my progress too!
This piece is actually from back in Sep 2022, when I drew along to a youtube video I found from Art with Flo! I found her channel when I was looking for youtube tutorials on Procreate and now I can't imagine using any other app tbh. Her videos are very easy to follow and understand and she has a series called You Can Draw This with a variety of different beautiful drawings!
One of her videos caught me eye last time, and I wanted to give it a try. It reminded me of the old Windows XP wallpaper everyone knows.
She uses the in-built brushes in Procreate (as opposed to some other videos I've seen) and she also provides the colour palette she used so it was super easy to draw along with her and focus on the act of drawing itself! It looked simple enough and thanks to her, my piece actually came out really well too!

And here's what the final piece looks like:
Even though it's not exactly the same, I'm actually really proud of this piece and it's still one of my favourites to this day!
But after I was done with this piece I wanted to add on something more, and it actually reminded me of the game Maplestory. I wondered how it would look if I changed the house to the classic mushroom house that is Maplestory's icon.
So these were the references I used; some of the wallpapers I found had a very blue sky similar to the piece I just drew, so I thought it would be perfect with the mushroom buildings!
I was only going to be changing the buildings, but I wanted to draw it again from scratch since I wasn't very happy with how the background turned out the first time.
I also added more trees this time since it looked a little plain.
Initially I just drew one mushroom house, and I thought that was going to be it, but then I wondered how it would look with more in the back.
In the end, we get this! I thought it looked pretty good and the spackle brush was perfect for the mushroom houses too. It really looked like they were part of the landscape.

Overall, I really liked how this one turned out and it's probably one of my favourites for sure.
I don't use youtube tutorials often, but sometimes it's just easy to turn off my brain and just draw along using one of these videos. I also learn a few tips I didn't know through them! It's been a long time since I've followed along to Flo's videos though, but I do miss it sometimes.
This particular video inspired me to draw another few pieces which I'll share soon. Thanks so much for reading!
