This oil painting I made last year is actually a self portrait! I've always had a lot of flying dreams and have painted and drawn myself flying a lot. It is 36" x 24". I worked from a collection of reference photos. The image of myself was taken from a variety of photos of me jumping naked on my bed, haha! That was a hilarious photo shoot. The background references are from various photos I took in Italy. In my flying dreams, I always find myself in a situation where I will be falling to my death, but then I suddenly realize that I can fly and it makes me so happy! Then I fly around happily until the dream ends. I'm painting my friend Yan next. In her flying dreams, she has to pump her arms and one leg up and down to get up in the air, then once she's up there she floats down slowly and then has to pump her arms and leg again.
