Murales de Mexico | Quintana Roo | artist unknown

in art •  4 years ago  (edited)

There was once a royal artist for some powerful emperor who was sentenced to death for an unflattering image of his highness..
Having served the royal family loyally until then he was granted permission for paints and brushes in his tower cell.
On the day of his execution, the guards enter and the artist is no where to be found.
They reluctantly inform the emperor who immediately goes to investigate the cell.
All he found were the paints, brushes and a mural of the ocean stretching to the horizon on the wall. A sailboat dotted the distance

The emperor immediately knew how the artist escaped. When asked about it he told his council - "He painted a picture and sailed away"

Good painting, looks good but need some real colour on it.

I don't edit them, don't feel like it's my place to. Just take them with artist name if it's visible, strip the metadata and post. I'm glad you enjoy them though, there's some amazing ones scattered in the hidden corners of the barrios. I've got many more I'll post throughout the coming days. And there's many more to take
