I started this back a few months ago, just now finding the time to write about it. I did a lot of experimenting with the applications of photogrammetry for game development and realtime interactive software. Needless to say, it's very neat stuff!
The first scan I did was from a series of photos orbiting an artificial apple. From the images, a sparse cloud is created by detecting similarities across progressing images.
From there, the sparse cloud can be cleaned and then regenerated into a dense cloud, a much "denser" recreation of the scan.

The next thing I scanned was a wooden eagle sculpture. I was surprised to see that it had captured and recreated most of my living room (where I was doing this) as well as the eagle.
