Planetary Echoes

I'm going SF this post and the one to follow. First, an artistic representation of a meteor, poem below.

"Meteor"

"Planetary echoes in the sky
Suddenly thundering by
Little voices from the giant boom
We see beauty at first,
But they come from doom.

What dying world, in its final hour,
Gave birth to this meteor shower?
Is this falling orb
The voice
Of a species' dying cry?
Or of a barren place
Where even a breeze
Won't pass by?

How was the sphere the meteor sings of?
Was it red, maybe yellow? Perhaps white...
Was it ready to die?!

Meteors are the voice of the lost...
The lost parts of a universe
We can never behold anymore...

I wonder how the bit that would fall
From Earth will sound like after all..."
