This painting in the style of expressionism made by Egon Schiele in 1917 (only one year before he died) depicts the nudity of the sincere embrace of a couple in love. And not any couple!
He dedicated this painting to his relationship with his wife. Critics have said that the detail of her arm around his shoulder expresses how very tender this moment he has wanted to describe really is!
