Ash

in art •  6 years ago

I had reserved 4 weeks in July and August to work on new sculptures. Notice the plural here.

However, 'Ash' became a bit more complex and grew from just a bust to an almost complete figure.

Once I added the arms to the bust there was something missing, so I added the skirt.

So, all mild steel with a bit of copper for the eyes. Life size ofcourse.

Quite happy with how she turned out. Came up with a few new ideas while working on her and since my next client isn't ready yet, I may just start on a new sculpture next week.

You know where you can find me for more regular updates. I only post the finished pieces here.

Enjoy!

I think you're the first sculpture artist whose work I've seen on steemit and its brilliant. She has a confident body language but the eyes, from what i can see in the photograph, are so anxious. Great work, looking forward to more.

Thank you.

aaaaaaaaah she's so cool <3 wish you would post more here, also @timroosen !

I second that! =)

Ah, it's a bit like Twitter really. From time to time I think 'isn't there this other thing I post stuff on?' and then I'll post a pic. Sorry. Best I can do. ;)

talking about Twitter: I just shared it - but the Twitter image showed mostly just the boobs, haha

That should get people's attention then. 😋 Thanks.

Big step taken. I am looking forward to the next: the whole character ;-) your skills are very impressive. Perfect volumes, great assemblage and finishing. Bravo Tim !!

Thank you. I made a complete figure a few years ago but she was a pain in the ass to move around. (Yes, I should have made her out of 2 parts :) But yeah, maybe I'll make a complete one again some day. I kinda like the size of this one. ;)

This is just amazing. I've always longed to work in 3d but have never really attempted much. This is so future and old world all in one.

It is always good to see something worth for upvoting and resteem here...

Excellent as is usual of your metal sculptures. You may wish to try posting from the elegance website that is specifically for art posts to Steemit.

This is so cool @timroosen! I absolutely love it :) Just curious; why do you only post the finished piece and not the process or bits and pieces along the way?

Thank you. I'm afraid I don't like Steemit very much and don't really have the time nor the intention to become a regular poster here, so when I remember I post a pic of a new sculpture. Best I can do. ;)

ahh I'm sorry to hear that @timroosen, but I'll appreciate the sculptures if and when they show up here 😅

Hat down! This is such a good and sensitive buste. No matter it is made of metal, one can feel her skin

Thank you.

Good to see another post from you! I upvoted and resteemed - and also shared on Twitter (I mentioned that in a reply to a comment here): https://twitter.com/visionaryartcom/status/1030857202817478657

Thanks, Otto.

I was wondering: how can you weld in this heat? Maybe it is a bit cooler where you are at, but here in Vienna its 32C

It's cooler now, but at the time it was 36C in the workplace. So I install a fan. What else can we do?

not much more.
When I worked on the railway in such heat, I wore a cooling vest, but wearing leathers is not comfortable anyway, even if it is not hot.
