Born in Reggio Calabria, she graduated in 2017 in Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts of Reggio Calabria, dedicated herself for 7 years as an assistant to the scenography at the Blu Sky Cabaret Theater Company and for 1 year at the Théâtre de Liège in Belgium, for 1 year as an assistant in setting up exhibitions and galleries at OttArt, Venice Mestre. During the period lived in lockdown for the advent of Coronavirus, the artist decides to devote herself to painting with acrylic sprays and to the organization and management of Contemporary Art exhibitions as a curator. In the last year you have participated in extemporaneous painting competitions on the Calabrian territory.
Her art speaks of distant and imaginary Universes in which subjects live and operate. At first glance her works would be called Figurative Art, but after a careful study, it is understood that in reality it is Post-Conceptual Art. Peter Osborne talks about Post-Conceptual Art as a union of the aesthetic dimension and theoretical-reflexive (conceptual) procedures.
The artist is particularly fascinated by American art techniques, so much so that she combines acrylic sprays with traditionally conceived art. In fact, in her works the background of the planets comes into contrast and blends with the subject in the foreground.
Each planet represents a virtue or a capital vice, it is up to the user to assign the meaning. The subjects emerge at the edge of the canvas, almost disturbing the gaze, imposing their presence.
Born and raised in Calabria, the artist brings to the heart the sea of the Strait of Messina, on which Sicily stands, the great protagonist of the artist's works. The contrast between the lights and shadows of Sicily on the sea are great sources of inspiration. In most of her works, Sicily emerges as the only subject of the work, showing her mountains in a long silhouette.
In the Non-Place of the infinite Universe, the subjects are highlighted with dark tones enhanced by light strokes given by the reflection of the Planets. The latter are made with bright colors, particularly evident, of all sizes, but always round. From the largest to the smallest, the Planets take on the role of great protagonists of the scene, sometimes obscuring the subject, which becomes a decorative element at the edge of the canvas.
