The mystery is not solved in the Sahara Eye

The Sahara's Eye or African Green Eye is another term for the Richat, a circular, diameter of more than 40 km, located near the town of Oudane (Mauritania).

According to the scientist, the Richat structure has a diameter of more than 40 kilometers, so even though it appeared millions of years ago, humans have never known its existence. This unique geological structure was discovered by two American astronauts, Jim McDivitt and Ed White, in June 1965 while working on the Gemini 4 spacecraft.

Immediately, the huge concentric circles between the vast desert and the blue of the rock have caused great attention worldwide. This structure is called the Sahara Eye or African Blue Eye, because the human eye shape is strange when viewed from space.

Initially, scientists thought it was a volcanic crater formed from meteorite collisions, but the theory was rejected as soon as no visible signs of melting ice were found.

 Richat structure looks very human.

Many scientists have researched this structure, many hypotheses have been made. Some say it is made by meteors, or by volcanic sediments. Even more commented that the structure of Richat is the vestiges of an ancient civilization has disappeared, but all are not recognized.

Today, the most well-known theory is that of two Canadian geologists, Guillaume Matton and Michel Jébrak, launched in 2014, after conducting a series of in-depth studies. They argue that this structure was formed from a geological change more than 100 million years ago.

According to Michel Jébrak, a professor at the University of Quebec in Montreal, who specializes in mineral resources, the Pangea supercontinent separates, separating Africa and South America. Magma is gradually pushed to the surface of the earth, but unevenly, creating a dome of rock layers, like a huge "acne". This also creates fault lines through the eyes.

About 100 million years ago, a violent eruption happened to collapse the dome. Then, the erosion of wind and time has left the rest to create the Sahara Eye that we know today. Each circle has different stones, they are worn at different speeds. The light colored circle near the center of the eye is the volcanic rock created in the explosion.

Here, Michel Jébrak also discovered four types of rocks: the kimberlites, about 150 km from the Earth's surface, sometimes containing diamonds; Carbonate rocks; Black basalt and rhyolith are all rocks deep in the Earth's crust.

However, this idea is still controversial. So far, there is really no convincing reason why the structure is so round in shape.

The full "eye" view is something that only a few of the billions of people on Earth have the opportunity. These are the astronauts, scientists who carry out space missions, but there are still so many tourists and researchers wanting to set foot in this strange land. Some "desert tours" from the town of Oudane, jeep or camel rentals will help visitors make this happen.

A small hotel was built in the middle of a structure, though not luxurious, enough space for visitors and researchers to stop long distances across the desert.

Quite informative I have not heard of this before

Let's find out more

Great post, very interesting, I've seen a photograph of this before but never new much about it.
Your post goes into great detail, explaining how and when it was formed and just about any other fact anyone would want to know about it. Well done and keep up the good work

Strange creation of nature. It doesn’t look like eye for me. It looks like a galaxy or cosmic hole.
