This small work is a culmination of two DAZ3D characters I've had for a while and wanted to work into a short story type graphical novel. Both have been rendered based on The Genesis 3 Female and Male Assets. They both have a Character Preset applied; Maria For Genesis 3 - Celeste and Jesse HD For Genesis 3 Male for Tonio. I rendered all scenes in full 1080 HD format, which made them take about 2 hours each.
There were some mistakes made with them. The pants for Celeste are borrowed from a Female Pirate outfit, that I chose because the really looked like yoga pants a lot. The asset is intended for Genesis 2, and that's probably the reason for the errors. They seemed to bleed through in spots, but in some ways could be attributed to wear. The wearing look in fact, does sort of look realistic, especially when viewing them full size.
I rendered the scenes transparent with no backdrop, which is why they appear to be floating. I could have used a white backdrop, which I've done in the past to remedy this, but for some reason, that makes them look more cartoonish. I think it has to do with the lighting and how it reflects off of the white room they supposed to be in. There are a few great dance studio scenery that I will acquire when I move forward with the story.
I really like the detail with rendering in HD. The hair is great as well as the body tones and imperfections, something DAZ pulls off really well. Also, both characters seem to fit their roles nd are very customizable if I want to use the same presets for different people, which i will need later on.
I chose to not use speech bubbles and plain text call outs with lines. In this scenery and story line I think it works much better.
In case you haven't guessed, Celeste is the evil character in this story. you know, the one in the soap you hate like hell. She's using Tonio to get at, and defeat a different female character that will be introduced later.
Tonio is a great guy. Works hard, goes to college and teaches yoga and dance on the side. He doesn't deserve Celeste, but can't seem to shake her.
There will be more on this. it was a lot of fun creating.
