You Tell Me

The question is quite straightforward: Do you see it or you don't? It is pretty obvious to me. But in case you don't see what I see, please read on, and I will reveal in a second. None of us is the same and some of us will probably not see what is beyond the obvious at the first glance. Please, humour me and take a thorough look at the picture, instead of giving it half a second and skimming through the text, without proper attention. :D

I was walking remote areas of the city and found this the other day. I think it's all in your mind; if it is trained and prepared to see unusual things in everyday situations or not. I 'm sure that I also miss many things and walk by them, not finding the boons. This one surely didn't hide. It looks like a face! The handle is the nose, the hole where the lock was, is the mouth, and a small darker area when the knob is, would be the eye. See for yourself and let me know if you saw it before I told you or after.

The colour scheme is interesting. Notice the orange bits and the way they strongly work to liven up the photograph. The dominant green background sets the rusted door in natural surroundings, stripping it from usefulness. It feels like the door is there to protect an empty loan and look like a face! :)

I am unsure as to whether the white paint is original or someone spray-painted the decaying door handle. Be it as may, it looks quite interesting to me. Old rusted things always hide some charm. I mean it is rusted, it is decaying, it is old, but it photographs so nicely. By photographing new, polished surfaces one can seldom achieve this kind of feeling. Well, these tell their stories, so there is no rule. It all depends on the idea. Upon the very thought, one wants to share.

In this one, I share an old rusted face, starring at you from some past times. Old things, as well as old people, often hide interesting secrets. But, I couldn't reveal it in the title!

Enjoy! :)

Damn I looked at it for like 5 minutes and I couldn't see the face. I thought maybe you're just imagining things, haha! But then as I was about to comment, I decided to check it out one more time and BOOM, I immediately saw the face. Now I can't "unsee" it. It does look really cool and charming once you notice it! You must be great at noticing details, because I would never notice something like this :)

hahahaha there we go!

Well, i have a very serious opinion upon this today @velimir

Actually, this rusted handle is a message for all the living things that Everything has anti-stardom period and everyone has to die sooner or later. Nothing will remain permanent except the deeds Yes the Good Deeds only.
As the Great Urdu Poet Jaun Elia (Translated Version)

You are damn cute, I am Pacifier
But the Tragedy is
We Shall Die all

I am huge admirer of your Art-graphy and yes your write up is Really Really Amazing. @velimir

Actually you make the tiny and Ordinary things More Special.

This was such a weird experience... In the small preview of this blog I thought I saw a shadowy painting of a face, only to find out it's a rusty door handle... Brilliant! :)

there we go! :)

Did you know that the phenomenon of seeing faces in things is called Pareidolia?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia

Btw: Great picture ;)

Oh, thank you. No, I had no idea this term exists!

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

lol, saw it right away!

What's so interesting about that picture is that the gate is there, supposingly protecting the inside- it's even locked with an heavy chain, but when you look beyond- you understand that it leads nowhere and protects nothing, in addition, the lock itself is broken and unfunctional, having a big hole where there should be the key opening. The face too are empty - lacking teeth and having a black, uniform eye.
Yet - we find this a pleasant scene, and the place, seemingly valueless - gets it value because it has aesthetic quality in our eyes. It's p pretty much like old, conserved historic buildings and places - anyone not familiar with the place will maybe deem it a pile of useless rocks, but the one who knows and identifies with the place's history sees the place as a place of high importance.

We can deduce that message from this art:
People have different opinions and views about many aspects of life, significant and insignificant, and we might not even understand what value they find in this opinion/object etc - but we should remember that we to face the same situation in other cases and it's perfectly ok - we should just honor the point of view of others, and hopefully they will honor the views of us too.

Wait a minute, so you came up with this seemingly long post at the sight of what seem to be a rusted telephone wire box while walking in a remote area?

I like the picture you painted the rusted box to be. I also agree, old rusted things always hide some charm (finding the charm is what you just did), just like old folks. The more time with old folks, the more they reveal stuffs to you.

I give it to you, you are a good artist

thank you for this cool comment, my friend!

I must be colorblind, I just don’t see the face. I was looking at it for some time and all I see is the gate and lock with the hole in it.
I hope I didn’t ruin your post, just honest!

no, man not at all. i expected that people wouldn't be able to see it. try relaxing and just stay on it :)

Oh yeah! I keep seeing these things. The pattern on the carpet, in the forms of clouds, in the cracks of the earth. Somewhere seen the face, somewhere silhouettes of animals, etc. Perhaps, this means that a person has a good imagination. And he is inclined to creative pursuits.

Nice post!

I did see it right away. Then I read your first paragraph and returned to it for quite a while looking for something else :) Not only a great photograph, but a well written description that had me searching minute bits.

Thanks for another great effort.

I looked at your photo for about 5-7 seconds... didnt see it right away.. then started to read, and not even one sentence in, you say do you see it?

I went right back up to the photo, and bam, saw the face and the crooked nose for the handle bar immediately!

Then i went back down to read on, and you spoke of the face! Excellent connection! Faces... Faces everywhere!

This is exactly a great old picture with some amazing things on it. For me it's a picture like: knockout player of boxing against Muhammad Ali:
images.jpeg

Thanks for taking notice of old and ignoring things and then make them priceless. Awesome Job Sir @velimir. Keep it up and Stay Blessed !

The face immediately jumped towards me, a reason why I opened your post. I love that kind of thing. At the top the chain that closes the garden and at the bottom the open mouth, in which the single green leaf lies like a promise to want to reveal the secret that has been concealed so far. It's almost like a seduction, something calls, you dare, break the chain that locks me up, then I'll tell you.

I just entered this page because I immediately interpreted a female portraiture in the thumbnail and needed clearance. My assumption was right, and I have to say that you really have a good vision.
The face just comes out more, when the picture is smaller, which is good.
A comparison of both in which the small picture is shown first, would be best, so that the viewer thinks that he was fooled, when he sees the big picture following.

The door knob just sucks tbh. lol

Great work!

Definitely see the face, at first looked like a rusty old door then you you again and there’s the face.

Very true.
It's all about perspectives @velimir.
I see a slightly disfigured face with a bent nose. Haha!!

Immediately I saw this photograph, I saw the face...once you filled with imagination, some things in life wont be hard for you to spot...I also saw the chains like a side cap on the face...in my own view, this is just like a king in an old dump, rusty and old, but still holds up to his duties, still keeps guard, not shaking even to death...great sight shot!

For some old yet unfamiliar reason, I could see it in the first glance. To me its not just a face, but an old, tired, battered face, one that has been there for so long, and has seen so much that is almost on the verge of giving up. But almost. Its still standing tall, still fighting, still persevering, just so it can keep on doing what it has been trusted to do.

Great art work I'd say!

Nope

I thought the photo was too dark until you said something about the bits of orange. When I looked at it again, it looked so much better. You got good eyes!

Ouch. That thing is falling apart.

Good post @vilimir

wow tanks

I suffer on every side be colorblind, I alone don’t remark the face. I was expecting at it for differing lifetime and in all directions from I see is the turnout and break away with the chink in it. I vigour I didn’t ruin your post, just honest

I am new here on steemit, actually today is my first day. I need all the support i can get. I love you all.

I didn't see it lol. It's a cool looking photo but I didn't see anything till it was pointed out by you. If I use my imagination that is. Cool photography anyhow.

upvoted&followed :)

@velimir This picture is so good, is a pleasure that you share with us. Have a good day

it is a treasure that I found one day so I shot it.

Thanks

Very cool picture! A great way to develop more neural pathways in the brain. Love it!

'an old rusted face, staring at you from some past times'.
Took me three scrolls back up to the photo to finally see 'the face.' This is amazing. If I happen to pass this by, I would never have recognized the hidden art in it. Sure I would have taken a photo of it but I'm not sure about recognizing the face. Man you have a good eye! Keep steeming and see you around.

My first thought seeing this picture was: Look, it has a mouth and it's opened :)

Awesome.... Like intentional accidents

All the look you post makes me interested and want to be like you, I love it.

An excellent work You have a lot of talent and potential @velimir

The first thing i've noticed is the metal that turns to a celebrity and comes to my mind how did you make the metal into a good captured .. then i look at the picture many times realizing only those thoughts.. but then i continue reading and i figured. I imagining the face like how you imagined...
And i think the face looks sad.. :) ;)

I see a face, though I see faces in just about everything, Pareidolia!

I have read the entire article, my friend.
I wrote it so beautifully that I did not get bored while reading it.
I think there is a piece of iron here, so start a photographic thing, feelings.
When I look like a person, I get a lot of other things.
It comes deep, the old ones come to mind ...

Damn I looked at it for like 5 minutes and I couldn't see the face. I thought maybe you're just imagining things, haha! I really like your art, and hope be like you.

I didn't see it at first! I like the moment where my brain suddenly recognized it and I can't unsee it.

Nice photo @velimir. I like the effect on that.

Your colour saturation in your pictures is
accurate

Another amazing photo brother @velimir!!! All of them are really breath taking. I would like to share my post here so you can give your opinion on it.

lovely art , looks like old rusty door handle

are you a photographer? I see your photo looks very real

Oh yeah! I keep seeing these things. The pattern on the carpet, in the forms of clouds, in the cracks of the earth. Somewhere seen the face, somewhere silhouettes of animals, etc. Perhaps, this means that a person has a good imagination. And he is inclined to creative pursuits.

This is amazing ! Hidden face !! Awesome my friend !

you are a genius man good job

I kept looking for something in the background. This reminds of staring at clouds. I'll leave you with bit humor.

“Aren't the clouds beautiful? They look like big balls of cotton... I could just lie here all day, and watch them drift by... If you use your imagination, you can see lots of things in the cloud formations... What do you think you see, Linus?"
"Well, those clouds up there look like the map of the British Honduras on the Caribbean... That cloud up there looks a little like the profile of Thomas Eakins, the famous painter and sculptor... And that group of clouds over there gives me the impression of the stoning of Stephen... I can see the apostle Paul standing there to one side..."
"Uh huh... That's very good... What do you see in the clouds, Charlie Brown?"
"Well, I was going to say I saw a ducky and a horsie, but I changed my mind!”

awesome shot man, my creative mind was totally able to drift away while admiring the photo. I see the image as a character not necessarily a face but more the profile view of little metal guy #loveit

Nice photo, i like it

Sin palabras.

very good work, keep working and success always @velimir

@velimir again I say it, the photograph captures moments, I do not want to sound hypocritical, but when I saw the photograph I could see a figure, like a human being sitting, but when I pulled my face away from the screen, I noticed a white face with a big nose I value your work a lot. @velimir continues like this.

beautiful art post and have deep meaning

I am @earnmoresteem and you got a 12.50% upvote courtesy of @malonmar! I invite you to send SBD with other post in memo and I will upvote you this new post.

😱😱😱que obra tan genial

very interesting and original I congratulate you, I dedicate myself to painting and you have a lot of imaginative talent, from the beginning I saw the face, but I studied the image for several minutes to see if there was anything camouflaged but I did not find anything, I only saw the image of the face, good colors, rust gives depth and that sepia tone, I will follow you and I hope you support me and follow me as I am a painter and at the moment I dedicate myself to draw only with pens, this technique is very interesting, greetings
