'Tiled Past'

This is a tiled floor pattern. Interesting, eh? It wouldn't be so cool if it was put up there recently, would it? Well, this floor was made in the 14th or 15th century. That's before Americas were discovered by the Europeans. :D To me, it appears that the tiles are made to resemble the rose of winds or a similar shape. Note how worn out they are after all the centuries but, one must admit that they are still standing strong.

The tonal range of yellow-orange is what defines the colour scheme. The varieties of shades within that colour range are quite rich. The composition is slanted. I did that to further increase dynamics. The dynamics are quite strong already because of the lines and overall higher contrast difference.

I wonder if any of the tiles made today will see the next century, not to mention the following six-seven of them. :D

Enjoy! :)

It is very beautiful, I love the design and colors. Despite the old as you say it is, I think it works very well, it does not seem outdated or something like this :-D Excellent, @velimir.

Those mosaics are beautiful, @velimir! There are also houses here that maintain ancient and interesting mosaics. Some materials of the past were better compared to those of today. Many of the old ones were carved by hand. The aging effect they have, the wear, is perhaps one of the most visually interesting things. As always, nice work. Greetings

Every time you are showing everything of your photography with special flavor which is really admire able keep going the great talent show on.

Great photo and a very nice write up. I always find it interesting to see designs like this that have survived so long, a great view into our past.

Beautiful tiles indeed. Is the whole space so rich? Where is it actually?

@velimir I sent 10 steem to this account still-observer last night. This morning I got a message from a woman saying,

Hi! I noticed you sent 10 Steem to still-observer. Please don't send any amount to him again because he was caught plagiarizing photos earlier this month, and changed into his account to look like a "Whale Trail Team" bid bot. Besides, he only has 125.202 SP which means his vote has very little value (or nothing at all).

Looks like I’ve been had. I’d like other to not suffer the same fate of thieves like this if it can be helped.

Thanks

great great

Spectacular, that design looks great, I like it, it's like watching them spin. The colors are very well framed too, that makes it very attractive. I love.

Considering how old they are.... One must admit that our ancestors had remarkable intelligence. The design of a single tile is made in such a way that the same design on every tile would be enough to make the whole pattern.

so beautiful 🌹

This design really is awesome, it actually made me initially think of fireworks :) Looks like a celebratory way to decorate a floor! I would love to have this as my kitchen floor lol!
