Original Art Photography Series by @velimir #80 'The Dream'

The name of this art photograph is: 'The Dream'

The photograph you see above was inspired by a dream, I had this morning. I took the photo while still sleepy, so it doesn't slip away. It was a very vivid dream, full of awesome dialogue. I dream a lot. My dreams are very clear and often flow like motion pictures. However, I forget most of them through the day. Funny so, I still remember this one entirely.

So, tonight I will take a different route and instead of writing about the photo which came to life because of the dream, I'll write about the dream itself.

I'm riding a skateboard with another person behind me through the streets of Prague. Weird, ha? Not a motorcycle but an orange skateboard. It's impossible to ride a skateboard with another person so that makes it even weirder.
(I can ride a skateboard and also rode quite fast electric ones but didn't do it in years.)

Back to the dream. I'm crossing the street, make a u-turn and continue to ride on the sidewalk. I'm doing the zig-zags and avoiding people. Soon, there is an art gallery to my left and the exhibition is taking place on the pavement right in front of it. There are many exhibits lying on the ground all the way to the road. Paintings, large books, several statues. I try to avoid them but in the end, I skate across two huge, three feet by two, open blank notebooks and leave the wheel marks across the blank pages. Bummer! Well, nothing could really be done because I was going too fast for to stop in time.

I ride on and park at a place where I was initially going to. As soon as I enter, a well-rounded guy of some 250 lbs comes in after me. He has a short uneven half inch blonde beard, chubby face and thin border round glasses that actually make his face appear even rounder. He's dressed up in a worn-out black suit washed out to greys. A perfect art critique columnist.

"You destroyed art out there, young man," he says in a frantic voice still breathing heavily from the run. Then he opens a dark sliding door leading to the dance floor and shouts his accusations to everyone, so they can well hear what my crime is. He is unstoppable.
After he takes a pause, I pet him on his back. I'm completely calm, flashing a wide smile.
"My friend, I understand that you believe what you re saying but the artist who exhibited his art on the street surely wanted people to interact with it."
The big dude thinks for a few moments before I continue...
"See, if someone tied a dog on the road and then a car ran the dog over, who is to blame? The driver or the dog's owner?"
The guy raises his head.
"I actually helped that art. I interacted with it in the quite expected manner. And then again, even if I wanted, I couldn't avoid doing so. It really was that art's destiny."
The columnist smiles. He understood.
"You are so right! This makes me see the light." His face becomes friendly and the overall feeling changes instantly.

Then I woke up remembering I still have two empty notebooks I bought in Istanbul a few years back and a skateboard somewhere in the garage. Well, the skateboard isn't orange. :)

The even more weird thing is that the entire dream dialogue lingered in my mind word for word. What does that tell me? :D

Dream reading, anyone?

Enjoy! :)
