The name of this art photograph is: 'The Path'
Even when it seems that one is standing at the bottom, there is always a light of knowledge somewhere out there. After one puts in the effort and overcomes the obstacles (climbs the stairs), a door will open and the light will pour in. The climb will take quite a bit of time and energy. But, that's the key - nothing happens without investing time and energy. With this image, I portray that thought. The door is half open and one can see the light waiting for him/her there.
I chose the central composition to accentuate the importance of the door and especially the light. Top backlight creates the white lines on each stair, perfectly distinguishing them from one another. Because of that, perspective flows vertically and leads the eye straight to the light on top. I particularly like the opened left side of the door burning out to white. It appears that the door was never there but we still feel its presence.
The only element with really visible colour is the closed part of the door. The orange colour uplifts the overall image and balances the entire composition which is otherwise almost black and white except for a little breath of green and very light red on the left wall. There is also orange on top of the stairs. It is always warmer when closer to the top.

I absolutely love the description you add to your photos. I can really see why and how you have composed the image. It reminds me of something Eric Kim says (one of my fav street photographers) - you should always know what emotion you are capturing before you take the shot. This way, you don't take 'empty' photos, they always have a meaning.
