Drawing a “Bewitching” reflection

in art •  7 years ago  (edited)

Today I’m bringing you a drawing of this cold bewitching gaze.

I’ve been on a drawing kick and I know that I’m neglecting photography. It has been on my mind and I am saving a few of my thoughts for an upcoming musings post. I’ve also wanted to take photos for my other series “more | less” so you guys can look forward to seeing updates soon.

Check out my last musings “XVIII” and the first installment of my “more | less“ series.

Perspective, composition, mood, tones, cold, winter, water, glass, mirrors, reflection, personalities, creepy, tired. These were thoughts that I had which lead me to this drawing.

I chose the same cool/warm toned combo that I used for my “drawing inspired by the cold.” I guess these are my go-to winter colors.

Before I forget... I know that I’ve gotten a few new followers and I keep forgetting to mention what tools I’m using. So for those of you who didn’t know, this drawing was done on the Procreate App for iPad Pro. I’m also using the Apple Pencil

I felt delighted with the color combo after shading in her lips with the warmest tone in this palette. It looks freaking beautiful! I really want to play around with other color combos but the winter blues have begun to sink in so most of my images are gonna be dominated with cool tones.

I decided at the very last minute to add a wash of color to help frame the image.

Thanks for checking out this gal with a bewitching gaze!

New winter shade is mint pastille green😂 Personally I like the crystal clarity of ice, especially when it coats everything. Never apologize for being on a drawing kick, it's great when your mindset is allowing you to create new beautiful art.

Sure is! Fun fact: Did you know that blush (pastel) pink was such a popular color last year that it was trending in both spring and winter? And you’re also right, I don’t know why I was apologizing! I’ll get to my photos eventually. 🙃

I was surprised that I even marie, I did not know if I was seeing two mouths or three until I fixed the image well from another point, you achieved an impressive effect.

It turned out looking pretty cool! My main objective was to put out something that would be interesting to look at.

Oooh, so gorgeous! I love the colours you used, it gives it such an eerie look to it! My favorite winter colour is probably that icy blue tinge that the snow gets when its gathered on the ground :)

Thank you. :D I’d like to think that the colors make her look like a pretty winter zombie. Maybe similar to Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride?

Oooh I can definitly see that!
