Spider Coccoon

in art •  6 years ago  (edited)

There was once a spidery contents here but a spider has now put them inside coccoons.... Like Shelob did with Frodo Baggins~ Or maybe like those fleshy things in Aliens before the chestburster bursts out of them~ Yep, like one of those things :D

I really love these Japanese horror stories. If you don't already know yami shibai then you definitely have to watch it. That are short anime horror episodes based on Japanese urban legends so it's full of creepy ghosts xD. I watched it with @rambutan.art because we are both big horror fans and it's great

OWOWOWOH yami shibai? I will look it up, thank you so much~ I loves horrors, yay yay :D :D :D

Looks like it is right up my alley * ___ * Thank you so much ! I will check it out for sure !!! <3 <3 <3

Ooh I love this!!! Spidey should make more great stories(especially scary/creepy ones~)

I don't really know "tales" of ghosts specifically but I can at least name you some! Forgive me if my brief descriptions of them aren't accurate since "some peeps say this, some peeps say that" kind of thing. Pontianak(kinda like a female vampire???), toyol(a lil' devil/gremlin like creature that steals), orang minyak(a supernatural creature covered in oil that rapes women) and pochong(a wrapped undead corpse that can jump very far)

AAAA thilah likey ghosty stories too??? :D

That last one sounds really funny XD.... How far can it jump ????

Yesh!!! I like the spooks unless they're zombies... or more along the lines of it can "spread" kind of thing if you know what I mean. Use to get pretty bad nightmares about those scenarios

Pffft not sure though I do remember one of the stories from the book series, True Singapore Ghost Stories saying they encountered one and at first it was super far but got super close to him in under a few seconds but I guess that doesn't really answer your question all that well dgjskdf

Wait a minute.. At first I thought.. yea i thought.. You were the girl walking home from work feeling sad, overworked and underappreciated. Then you found a rock that you mistakenly thought was a crying baby. hmmmm.. definitely true story and it happened to you i bet!! hehehehehe... That's okay spider.. it will be our secret ;-)

I kept me on the edge of my seat though. Nice one! The drawing gives me chills now that I have the story to go along with it!

I dont live in a shabby one-bedroom apartment, I live in a spider's web :3

Oh, I just had a walk like that...although in the middle of the grey and gloomy day.

awwww hope you got home alright and got a good rest?

Oh, I found a very nice stray dog on my walk and took photos of it that I am happy with.

OOOOH, that IS something happy-making :D :D :D

Ohhh that is a nice story. A bit creepy and also relatable about the work draining stuff.

The illustration works pretty well, I am glad that you included the story to go along with it, because otherwise from the picture alone, the Ubume looks totally malevolent hahaha.

Nice one, spider :).

hahahah yea, without the story she would look like a ... "GIMME THAT BABBY I WANNA EAAATTZ IT"

XD;;;;;

thanks, scrawls <3 <3 <3

Very expressive drawing :-D

Grazie, bella caroline~ <3

;-D

And such an amazing story @veryspider Your illustration of it going perfectly with it. It made me think of old Victorian serials that would be in magazines each week, a story of gripping fear/suspense illustrated in ink. Wonderful. Now I'm off to google "Ubume" :)

Thanks, Donna !! Victorian serials sound exactly like what I felt I was going for \o/

That’s an awesome pic, slightly creepy but not in your face so which I think is the best kind 😆

And that’s such a depressing ghost story, those poor spirits ☹️

Thanks ryry !!! :D I also prefer creepy than IN YO' FACE shock stuff XD

And yeah, some of these spirits are kinda unfortunate and sads ; __ ;

This post is so interesting. I absolutely love the drawing. I never realized you write as well. Japanese ghosts are the most original in my opinion. Have you watched Ringu? Anyway, I'll see you around.

Yeah! The old RING? It was great :D I loved it~ You should also check out Noroi if you're into Japanese ghost movies/stories.... I write sometimes but rarely cuz im a lazy spider and writing is much harder for me than drawing hahaha :D

All brilliant people are lazy, lol. I'll make a note of Noroi. Thank you.

Your story was so captivating Spider. I'm not familiar with Japanese Spirit stories like this one ~ But the way you told it, gave me the impression it wasn't an ordinary baby ~ But I certainly wasn't expecting the 'baby' to turn out to be a rock. Your drawing reminds me of the old fairy tale woodblock prints, I remember as a child. Enchanting work. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Thank you, Ally! (I MISS YOU~) (so nice to see a comment from you again omg~ how are you? was your break good??? it's getting colder here in melbourne) (aaaaaaaaaaaaaa)

I love those woodblock prints! Such BEST comments * ___ * ~~~~~~~ AAAAAAAAA

I'm (almost) ready to come back again Spider. My two weeks has turned into three weeks almost ~ And could easily be turned into months now that I've given my 'Creative Muse' just a small taste of freedom.

I love this time of the year in Sydney where the air becomes fresh and crisp, but it's still not winter freezing. Just today I could really notice the change. I used to love Melbourne in autumn too.

It feels great to be catching up with you again. Have a wonderful day ~ Stay warm. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

I love your artwork but that story about the ubume made the hairs on my arms stand up. We have something similar here on the way out to our city there is a story where a woman with a child who waves to vehicles to stop. Dude I drive to work alone early in the morning passing that road lol.

OMG i'd be super scared too if I was you, driving that road with such reputation lol

thanks for visit and comments <3

I have to disagree with you - there's something about how you drew her mouth that I find WICKED creepy! Of course, my brain was probably influenced by the creepy cool story you wrote. 😊 Awesomely talented pairing you have here, @veryspider!

Hahaha thank you! I am glad that I was kinda successful in conveying creepiness :D :D :D Appreciate the wonderful and gorgeous comments, as always, @traciyork! You rock !!! \o/

Great drawing skills!

Thanks so much !!!

Captivating story! I had no idea it was based on folk legend until the very end. Also, the description of the woman in the first 2 paragraphs used to be me - I'm so glad I got out of that job!

Thanks for the great introduction to a Japanese legend!

#powerhousecreatives

Awww I am glad that you got out of that job, @mattifer ! Sounds so draining ; __ ;

I look forward to your next house post aaaaaaaaaaaaa~

And I'll try to bring in more weird Japanese folklores, seems like it's a good thing to share our cultures around with other Steemians :D

I'm working on it! I've got pictures to post, I just haven't had time to write anything! Maybe soon though, I hope.

I love both your drawing and your take on an Ubume story, @veryspider!

I actually lifted an eyebrow when I saw the title of your blog post, as I had just read an article about Japanese ghosts and monsters just a few days prior :D

Thanks, Cogi !!! Wow, that was a bit of a creepy timing, but cool too :D !! I love your post on the Sakura season <3

What a stroke! Really coo!

Thanks @amalinavia ! :D

Wow great story line, sometimes people take advantage of you because of you're to humble or kind, those kind of people are people we should always watch out for and be so careful How we interract with them because most of the time they are very persuasive.

Thanks very much :)

You're welcome dear

Wow what a story! I am sitting at te airport and got all into the story, so I had to double check tgat I didn't miss my flight in the meantime 😂 (I didn't ) But what a poor sad little spirit...

Posted using Partiko Android

Aaah thank you, Freja ! Im glad you didnt miss your flight XD

Yeah, the Ubume is quite a sad ghosty... ; __ ;

Love your stories <3. You make a nice build up then at the end you drop the boomz. I grew up with La Llorona's stories. I remember that just hearing the name La Llorona was creepy times when kid, real creepy. And the illus, love the presence in the back, without much form but still a heavy entity.

Thank you, Zeen <3 <3 <3 Im glad you likey :) I only have heard of La Llorona from friends but she sounds terrifying.... ; __ ;

Creepy is the right word to describe this story.
Love your writing. While reading. I saw a short film ( movie adaptation ) in my head. I can only imagine how the woman in this story would be feeling.
Brrrrr

Sorry, I can't think of any Dutch folklore to share with you. We were merely raised with fairytales and the more 'grim' ones were those by the Brothers Grimm.

P.S. I really, really love that artwork too ( the look, the framing, the 'shot' selection and the drawing style)

xx

Thank you so much, Vincent <3 You are very kind :) I am glad that you can see the story vividly ! Such a high compliment * ___ * You made my day~ * ___ *

Those Grimm fairy tales were pretty grim, some of them! I heard the 'real' versions of Cinderella and Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty and they get dark O __ O

Thank you, as always, for being so awesome <3 Your comments NEVER read like a throw away <3 <3 <3

You are welcome
Have an awesome day :>)

P.S. Why did Steemit just tell me I wasn't following you?
I feel it's sometimes auto unfollowing people.
This is definitely not the first time this happened :>)
