Birth of Homer out of Rhythm of Aegean Sea
New painting inspired by Ancient Greek poet Homer (c. 8th cen. BCE), who is considered the father of Western literary canon. As a basis reference was used a conventional bust of Homer as he came to be seen over millennia. Real identity, let alone physical appearance of the "great blind sage" is disputed.
The name alludes to the rather elegant assumption by Russian poet K. Paustovsky that the rhythm of Iliad and Odyssey (which were for centuries recited in oral) was borne out of the rising and descending tides of Aegean Sea.
Rather beautiful analogy.
