Step By Step Sketching Tips by my fresh Sketch of Daenerys Targaryen (Khaleesi)

Hi everyone. I was alone and had some free time. And I wanted to sketch something which is important to me so I won't get bored. And I want to share with you some tips to sketch easily if you are interested. Sketching is the first step to make oil painting or other types of this art. So if you want to know if you have ability for this or not, just try my steps at this exercise. Because I think %40 of sketching is ability the rest is the technique. Maybe you tried hard at past but you failed because of wrong techniques. What I am gonna tell is not complicated, just basic steps for everyone.

Firstly I want to emphasize that I draw and paint since I was 10 years old but that doesn't mean I am pro at these things. Because I took education and had a job which is far away from art but that doesn't stop me to continue painting. Anyway let's get to the point.

STEP 1:
Find a photo to draw from internet. You may take a print out or just look at from the computer. I prefer for you taking a print out. You need a piece of paper, a lead pencil and a rubber. Paper and your photo dimensions must match to each other or at least both should be close to each other.

STEP 2: 2 2.jpg
Now seperate your photo and your plain paper with straight lines from the same spots. The lines on your paper should be erasable. I didn't use that lines, these are photosop lies to show you.

STEP 3:
This part is important because you will build all of your work on this structure. Now draw the edges of your painting with the help of your erasable lines. Than erase them.

STEP 4:
Each workout has important parts that you shold work carefully. At this study Khaleesi's face and hairs are important so I will focus more on there areas.

STEP 5:
Softly use your pencil to darken where you see the dark sides at original photo.

STEP 6:
I advise you to soften the skins or wherever your workout's soft parts, use your fingers and roll gently over it.

STEP 7:
When you feel it's finished, put your signature and you are done. Thanks for reading, I wish you happy and artful days.
