I'm not ashamed of my shitty art

in art •  7 years ago  (edited)

Back when we had a studio I used it as an excuse to practice my drawing skills, which originally were even worse (if that's even possible). After lunch, I would try to draw something random, either from my imagination or from the world around me, usually related to what we were doing that day. I would then post it outsid son our bulletin board. This was my first first attempt.

People would look at our bulletin board in confusion as they walked by, probably thinking we were proud of our nonexistence toddlers artistic ability. I am sure they never thought these were drawn by a grown man.

I should really get back to drawing, maybe one day I can actually learn to make my finger do what I tell it to do!

Pfft they're fine. They have expressions and personality, now all you need to do is add a bit of swooshiness to their body language :D

careful though as from there you'll start to develop anatomy and form and and and...

goatsig

Swooshiness comes first though, and then flatterment.

Lol. You must be a lot of fun. Good on you though for putting it out there. Keep cutting up.

I sure hope so! At least I have fun...

When my daughter was 3 - she surpassed me in drawing abilities...

I was working as a High School Teacher at the time, and during my prep period, I would go sit in on art class. The students asked me why I was there, and I admitted to them that well, my 3 year old drew better than me and that she had asked me for help drawing a cube, and I wanted to teach her. They laughed at me for a while, but then taught me some pointers.

I can draw castles and princesses well - dogs 🐶... not so much.

It's cool that you joined he class, do other teachers do things like that at your school? Why not learn when a teacher is right there in the next room, right?

I'm still working on dogs but now I can draw a killer Captain Picard!

I don't work there anymore, but yes! We used to take each other's classes
often.

Nice art friend... @whatamidoing
