I haven't got a chance yet to prefer one over another medium so I really can't tell much about the first one but you sure have put some work on the second with those details and shadows. I really like the formation of the clouds.

I was just replying to the above comment and hahaha it kinda shows that you nailed the problem with digital versus real media for me :)
On real paper, I can see the whole paper size so it frames my thoughts and I can include some background elements :)
