I did this little exercise of artistic exploration with the free software https://firealpaca.com/, using all its large stock of tools available at no charge. As a starting point, I chose this photo of four old knives taken by me. I took the photo in a small museum that keeps old things in the Emma Soler Cultural Complex, located in the city of Los Teques, Venezuela.

I chose this specific photo because I found it extremely expressive with its nostalgic and evocative touch while serving as a symbol of how old violence is. Apart from the fact that I found very interesting the texture of the sand on which they rest in their dream of oxidized weapons. I downloaded the original photo, which has a reduced color palette, basically a gray scale. Then I processed the image with the free software.

With various options offered by the program, I extended touches of transparent color to give brightness and a certain lyricism to what is now a painting. Nevertheless, I wanted to preserve some of the figurative elements present in the photo.
