The project began with a simple photo of a blue truck alongside a train track. When I was younger I would go to this particular spot almost everyday to smoke weed, and on certain evenings for sexual liaisons with my girlfriend of the time. I would always park my car in the same position, just to the right of the rusted yellow posts, and that blue truck would always be there, months and months, even years without moving, until the day they finally towed it away. One night I went there on mushrooms, and there was a thin fog everywhere, bright orange from the harbor lights and the streetlights.
One of the last times I went there with that old girlfriend she had a camera with her, a digital Nikon she was using for some photography class project. I snapped a photo with it, then I put the photo onto the computer. Despite the fact that the photo was taken in broad daylight, I managed to photoshop it into the image you see above, an imitation of my memory from the mushroom trip weeks before. I liked how it turned out, but part of me always wished it was a painting instead of a photograph. Now, after a considerable amount of work, that dream has finally become a reality. It took me several months of off and on work, but I've pretty much finished the painting version of this project I started more than seven years ago. Check it out!

That is so cool, man. Congratulation on having that project done.
It looks great. I did not know you were good at painting too. Can't remember if you mentioned that in some of your personal posts.

Thanks man, I'm proud of it. I haven't been painting this year just because I've been on the move until a couple weeks ago, and it's so expensive to get the supplies. I definitely enjoy painting, but it's rare that I have the patience to make a piece turn out how it ought to. Usually I start one and give up as soon as I get frustrated, but with this one I've been able to push through despite screwing up repeatedly.

That surely makes it special. I know what it is to leave art projects unfinished. I just draw, nothing fancy (pencil and charcoal). I have been saying for months now that i will retake that activity and have not found the time.

Seven years

That really one of an hard work

This is really dope and beautiful

Was it this month you finished it.

Yep, it's still not quite finished, but it's close enough that I can show people. I'm glad you like it!

Looking through your blog it will very hard to say you paint also

Perhaps you should have just uploaded some process images or an image of you with the painting.

Haha perhaps. I've got nobody I need to convince and this painting is nowhere else on the internet, so I didn't really consider that somebody might accuse me of stealing the credit for it. If they do I can prove them wrong in about five seconds

Above all

This is really beautiful
