SNDBOX asked me to design illustrations for The Creative Crypto magazine.
The theme was: The State of Crypto Creativity in 2018.

They asked me to create a picture in this style.

I created this image in 2011 for the Symposion magazine. At that time I worked in this style. Since then, my technique has changed a bit. And I didn't think that this will make it difficult to work.

Now I'm showing the process.

I drew some crypto and creative things.

But I felt it was not good. That's why I created a new composition in the middle with a one-dollar (with the portrait of Washington). Around him there are different people who use cryptocurrency. Of course I drew a mining man too :) :)

I drew some elements on the picture.

I was happy to draw a good composition. But the real challenge was coloring.

The coloring

I realized during the coloring, it will be hard work. 7 years ago I didn't make this type of picture. So I forgot the method how I created.

Here I present a few attempts. You can see that this direction isn't good.

It didn't work. The picture was colorful and chaotic, but not exciting. How were my old pictures so exciting? How did I create aesthetic chaos? It's not easy. I was very tense, because the coloring failed.

I dropped the colors and returned to the sketch. The sketch is the basis of the composition. I added some new elements to the sketch.

That's good, - I thought. I could start coloring.

This is the first part of this article. I will continue it tomorrow.

Thanks SNDBOX! :)
