Promoting Our Art (and our children's art) here on Steemit and Beyond!!!! COLLABORATIVE ART JOURNEY and ARTISTS IN BLOOM

in artatsteemfest •  7 years ago

Taking advantage of the opportunitities to share our art
--and our children's art--
is something worth true consideration.

I'd like to share with you one opportunity that happened for Steemian artists last year,
and how I am preparing for potential opportunities if they arise again.

Last year at Steemfest2,
Steemit artists from all over the globe participated in an art exhibit
in the ancient city of Lisboa, Portugal
for all the Steemfest2 participants and the general public as well.

It was the first Steemfest year that art had its own venue, so with the astounding facilitation of @roelandp, the @gardenofeden crew (consisting of @quinneaker, @saramiller and myself), @opheliafu, and additional help from @lifemovedbysteem, and @prc, we transformed an empty space in one of the LXFactory buildings into a Steemit Art Gallery appropriately called:

~*~*~*~ ArtAtSteemfest ~*~*~*~

Not only were there nearly 140 Steemit Artist images submitted and curated in the space, @kimberleighfl and I put together a video for projection of the images, poetry and sound contributed to the Collaborative Art Journey throughout the year.

We also had a lot of Steembird jammin'
and some potent impromptu collaborative music and sound

@opheliafu and @paolobeneforti hosted workshops and discussions, @saramiller shared some yoga, the @gardenofeden provided Epic Handmade SteemGear, and for the second year, a hot and steemy Steemit pancake breakfast was provided by @roelandp's brother.

At the end of the final dinner of Steemfest2, the printed images were given away, either back to the original artist, or to another Steemian who fell in love with the works.

There was so much appreciation for the art that was shared, for the value of work curated for this event, and for the camaraderie that was built together in support of the arts.

As you can see---there was a LOT of effort placed on this one single ArtAtSteemfest venue (not to mention all of @roelandp and his team's efforts for the rest of this once-in-a-lifetime event).  It was a really big deal, especially for all the Steemians participating at SteemFest, and for the artists who provided their creations to be shared.

I have high hopes that we get to curate another ArtAtSteemfest space wherever and whenever Steemfest3 comes around.  If the opportunity arises, our dream would be to make it an even juicier and more active creative hangout space, even more prolifically curated with all of our Steemit art blasted all over the walls, art projected on large screens, more music, yoga, workshops, discussions, and more!!!

All of that being said, it took quite the effort to gather these works of art from the different hosts from the Steemit art initiatives.  We were unsure of exactly how to put it together, but have a little better feel for what worked and what could have made it a lot easier.

One of the major things we did at the @gardenofeden to prepare (for my own initiative - the Collaborative Art Journey), was to compile all of the art, poetry and music contributions toward the 27 different collaborations (which was over 481 contributions), formatting them into one video with titles and credit for each piece, and getting permission from each artist to present their works.  It was an incredibly time consuming effort, which took over 70 hours at crunch time just to put it together, in addition to encouraging other hosts from other art initiatives to collect their works and permission as well.

So....this year, though we have not been given any indication that there will be an exhibit opportunity - at Steemfest3 or otherwise - we still feel that compiling this information in a useable format as the art is submitted would be a VERY beneficial and pre-emptive idea.  Gathering this information immediately from the artists who submit their work to one of my initiatives will save me and my brilliant organizing/creation team (@kimberleighfl!!!) dozens of hours each.

This is how it will work:

When submitting art for either the
COLLABORATIVE ART JOURNEY and/or ARTISTS IN BLOOM,
each artist will be asked to fill out a special submission form.
The link to the "form" will be included in my INVITATION post.
By completing this form, the artist will:

- be giving us permission to use their artwork
- automatically be submitting their art for possible inclusion in an exhibit
- be providing all the information necessary to identify their work and themselves as the artist

NOTE 1:
- Only those artists submitting this form will have their work eligible for exhibit.
(Should you ever have an issue filling out this form, please feel free to contact me about it.)

NOTE 2:
- Filling out this "form" is not a requirement for participating in either the Collaborative Art Journey or Artists in Bloom.  Simply by participating in either of the initiatives you are already giving permission for us to use your art in whatever way we see fit, but the "form" will be considered your official entry into special exhibits should they arise.  This will also keep you from missing a request for submissions at a later date.

hey hey! I look forward to joining the next steemfest, will it be in Lisboa? Where can we know more about it, @everlove? thanks :)

We have no idea yet where it will be. I'm sure when the time and location is revealed, we will all be so excited to hear about it that it will be all over Steemit.

What an epic event!

Indeed it was. So grateful we did it together @quinneaker!

This is huge and a great help to artists. This is really amazing and a great source of encouragement. Thank you for that.

Thank you for the support @olawalium. Children are our future...I'm grateful to be a part of supporting the expansion of their minds.

You are such a great blessing to them.

We are to each other!

No doubt.

Great initiative! You are a valuable community builder @everlove

This feels like a very valuable community to invest in. Thanks @gardenofeden!

I sure hope there's another 'Art At Steemfest'!!!! I know it's still early but i'd love some sort of inkling of where Steemfest3 will be!!!!!!!

I sure hope there is too @jasonrussell. And I hope you will be bringing some valuable contribution again to ArtAtSteemfest--but I hope you bring it in person this time!! I've heard no hints about when or where. But I feel certain that no matter, it will be worth the effort to get there.

I'd be interested to see if/how you keep track of the entries to your contest.

It is quite wonderful to watch so many artists bloom at once.. it’s not even spring yet.

By the way, do you use Steem Voter or Streemian for auto-votes?

So great to see such an amazing artist here in support of these children. Glad to have you here @daltono.

I use Steem Voter.

I know that children tend to love me, so I love the child.

I'm going to add you to my Steem Voter! If you want to do the same for me that would be absolutely beautiful.

Children, left to their own free flow of engagement, will always be drawn to the bright spirited, fun loving, creative soul where they feel safe to be themselves. No wonder they like you!

Thanks for passing some love my way. I'm going to have to go in an make some adjustments to my SteemVoter--so many awesome people, and so many taken opportunities to vote!!! Keep Steeming--I'm grateful what you bring to this platform, @daltono.

That must be the reason.

You are very welcome @everlove.

This is a wonderful and great initiatives for all creative people, Wish you a very good luck on your project @everlove:)

Thank you @theia7. I appreciate your support in this initiative. The more space for creation we can hold for this next generation, the greater future we will all experience.

You are undoubtedly right @everlove. I appreciate your creative work :)

And I yours @theia7!

wow ... this activity is very profitable for the community because by promoting this image people will be inspired and get various illusions (science). This activity can also cause positive effects for viewers who experience symptoms of strees due to hard life in the face of work, as well as refresing.semoga success @everlove develop your next work

Art is always valuable in my eyes. Creation has all kinds of positive affects on people and the environment. I hope all of our efforts to share will benefit many. Thanks for the comment @noviwulandari.

That's a great event that i've ever seen @everlove, gather in steemfest, sit together and talking about art, steemit, and other interesting topic was brilliant 😀

Steemfest is really one of the most progressive, interesting and valuable events I have ever attended. The people are amazing as well--feel like family. Indeed an incredible opportunity to connect with other Steemians. I recommend it highly.

Your explanation make me more curious to know about steemfest @everlove
But unfortunately, in my place there has been no such event like that

We have traveled across the world twice now to be a part of Steemfest1 and 2! It is well worth the investment and the time and energy it takes to get there. It's a magnificent event not to be missed. Those attending Steemfest will tell you of the magnificent event. I have written many posts about it.

Wow great gatgering with lots of fun and happiness and art God bless yOu all

Thanks @yasirgawad.

Art is very cool good luck always yes

Thank you @fikar22.

Yes,thanks

Glad to see you puting so much effort for the artists. So many entries from steemians the previous time proves that there is a need for another event like the previous one.

But how do u manage to find an empty building? 🤔 Just curios to know that how do u manage the costs if it occurs ?

WE are also planning to do similar things in our city on a monthly basis.

The arrangement for everything at Steemfest is the magical works of @roelandp!!! I don't know how he does it---he just does. Not only does he scope out, manage and secure the venues, he arranges all the details for everything. He's quite an amazing organizer/facilitator/arranger/humanitarian.

The energy he put into ArtAtSteemfest is a direct reflection of how capable he is. There is indeed a lot of interest and support for arts here on Steemit. I feel certain Steemfest2 will not be the last time our art is shared in a grand way through this platform.

Hello Global Artists, I'm Oatmeal Joey, and I love art and I love this global art thing and I draw too and I may and might submit some of my art too. Thanks for sharing and everything else too, everybody, and keep up the art and good work and everything and more. Take care. Thanks. Oatmeal.

Hey @joeyarnoldvn. I'm so glad you are interested in the arts and are inspired to share here on Steemit. If you get involved in the art initiatives here on Steemit, you may receive an opportunity to participate in an exhibit. The form mentioned in my post will be only for those contributing their efforts toward the Collaborative Art Journey and Artists in Bloom. Perhaps you will be getting in on the Collaborative Art Journey. We are always excited to have new artists join us.

It's a great opportunity to do something valuable for this community. I'm grateful to be a part of it.

Thank you saramiller for making a transfer to me for an upvote of 0.82% on this post!

Half of your bid goes to @budgets which funds growth projects for Steem like our top 25 posts on Steem!

The other half helps holders of Steem power earn about 60% APR on a delegation to me!
