This is an artwork I created for one of @juliakponsford's ART EXPLOSION contest, which you may read about here. For this week, the theme of the contest is VICES.
I got motivated to take part in the contest when Julia herself invited me to join. Since I really feel like art is part of me, I decided to give it a try. Also, I wanted to support this contest as a sign of thanks for all the help and support she's giving via the @minnowsupport. She's always been so welcoming and friendly!

Art Explosion - Vices
I'm feeling all inspired, so might submit two (2) entries for this. Unfortunately, I'm still currently working on my music, so for now, let me share this artwork I envisioned when I thought about the theme -- Vices.
This combines photography and a few tweaks using photoshop. I've used the photo I took during my vacation in Hong Kong as a base. It took me a while to settle on a concept.
Anyway, this artwork shows a shadow who seems to be smoking, and in the process gives color to a dull picture. Now, I believe we have vices which may come in unconventional forms, and I'm thinking that when we succumb to our vices, we are given temporary escape from reality. It is as if we are seeing/feeling a different world. However, just like smoke, it eventually vanishes, and the problem really doesn't go away.
The title I used is the Filipino translation of vices which is "Bisyo". I hope you enjoyed this artwork!
