Conspiracy 2018 - Original Animated Gif


Hi everyone, here is my first entry to the "Art Explosion Week" contest, an iniciative by @juliakponsford. This is the week 23 of the contest and the theme is "Conspiracy".

I wanted to make an animated gif and work with the idea of "eternal loop" that this kind of image format suggest.

I used a classic symbol of conspiranoid imaginery in a context of extreme surveillance trhough panopticum systems that dominates the world today.

First of all I´ve made a very fast and simple storyboard to litterally put the ideas in the table:

Utilicé un símbolo característico de lo que sería el imaginario conspiranoico y lo coloqué en el contexto de los sistemas panópticos y de vigiliancia que dominan el mundo en la actualidad.
Antes de todo, hice un storyboard sencillo para, literalmente, poner las ideas en la mesa.}

This allowed me to start drawing the frames in vectors and using the rotoscopy method in Illustrator, doing some little modifications:

Then I started to make the animation with After Effects, using the frame to frame method combinated with camera and layers movements that this software allows me to do:

_{Luego, hice la animación con After Effects, animando fotograma por fotograma y también moviendo las capas y la cámara virtual que tiene este programa}

Finally I´ve exported the animation in a quicktime video format and made the compress in .mp4 to obtain a lower size file.

This mp4 was converted to a .gif using an online gif maker.
