I try to share, The way I plant and care for ginger plants involves lighting, warm temperatures, high humidity, and nutrients. If these conditions are maintained, you can successfully harvest healthy ginger plants from your own garden. If you grow your own ginger, then you do not have to buy ginger in the store again.
All you have to do is take a ginger plant, dig a little ground, and take a piece of fresh ginger root. Hopefully this article will tell you how to grow ginger at home, be it a backyard, garden or pot and polybag.

How to grow ginger

I use materials and tools:

  1. a large pot, polybag, sack
  2. ginger root
  3. organic fertilizer

The first thing you do is buy ginger root in the plant shop, look for the fresh ones.
Before planting the roots of ginger, clean and soak ginger roots in water for a night.
The next morning, grab the pot, the polybag you want to plant the ginger. Pot, polybag plant with a width of about 25 cm is ideal for the growth of ginger.
Enter the loose soil and fertilizer.

Take water and soak the soil well, do not overwhelm.
Now take root ginger that has been soaked and planted just below the soil surface. Do not plant it too deep or too close to each other. Make sure also that the ginger bud or shoot is facing up.

Once the pots and polybags are ready with ginger, give the water a little more and place it under a light shade of about 23 to 26 C and need regular watering of the plant, when shoots appear on the soil surface, you should often water it.

Healthy ginger plants can grow to a height of 3-4 meters with a shiny narrow leaf measuring about 30cm. If maintained for more than 3 years without being revoked altogether, ginger plants will release flowers in yellowish green.

Treatment of ginger plants

Some things to consider in doing better ginger plant care:

  1. Soil conditions
In order for the ginger plant to grow well, make sure that the soil is rich in nutrients.

  2. Light
Ginger plants need bright light enough for rapid growth and development. In the wild, ginger is adapted under a larger tree, thus exposing the light indirectly. This makes the ginger plant also grow well by getting sunlight indirectly.

  3. Temperature
The temperature between 24-35 º C is ideal for the growth of ginger plants. Ginger can not tolerate temperatures less or more, as mentioned.

  4. Humidity
Ginger plants grow at high moisture levels, which may be difficult to keep them in the open. Therefore, if possible, plant ginger in a shade, warm and moist.

  5. Watering
Ginger plants need lots of water, especially during the active growing season. But, this does not mean to be watered every day, which will cause puddles and drain away the nutrients from the soil.

Here's an article how I grow ginger in pots and in polybags. Good luck, let us budayakan farming hobby for a country that is more healthy, beautiful, and prosperous.
