AI rising star OpenAI recently had a bit of a headache, not only the company and CEO was sued by Musk, its fist product GPT-4 in performance and price are facing the impact of competitors.
Recently, Mistral AI, a French AI startup founded less than a year ago, released its latest large model, Mistral Large, and launched its first chatbot product, Le Chat, which is a direct counterpart to ChatGPT. It is understood that Mistral Large has the second highest rating of all the current large models that can be accessed through APIs, second only to GPT-4.
What is more noteworthy is that Mistral AI has also reached a more in-depth cooperation agreement with Microsoft, which will invest in Mistral AI and provide it with arithmetic and cloud services, while Mistral AI's large model resources will also be sold in Microsoft's Azure cloud platform. You know, the last AI startup with this treatment was OpenAI.
